I'm gonna make a mix cd of the doomiest Melvins songs. What do you think should be on there?
So far, here's what I have:
Boris
Ligature
Your Blessened
Hung Bunny/Roman Dog Bird
Charmicarmicat
Hag Me
Gimme some more.
at the stake
echohead/don't piece me (after a thought, almost any song from gpt)
vile
koollegged
revolusion/we reach (and a lot of the songs from ozma)
amazon AMAZON
the anti-vermin seed
the fool, the meddling idiot (?)
goggles
a lot more, these are from the top of my head.
at the stake doesn't get the appreciation it deserves, it used to be my favorite song by them.
Easy As It Was
Eye Flys
Heater Moves & Eyes
Vile
Creepy Messiah
Koollegged
Roman Dog Bird
Hooch
POTRE
I'm temped to mention more dark songs, but that wouldn't be right. Their doomy songs are definitely over; the obvious doom as we know it that is. I wouldn't out both Amazon's on it either.
But goddamn, how come Eye Flys didn't pop up immediately? And Hooch neither? Jese...

At the Stake still is one of my favorites. Goggles definitely should belong on a doom mix of Melvins material. Manky, See How Pretty, See How Smart and They All Must Be Slaughtered, should be considered too.
You should put all of Lysol on it.
I'm still new with the Melvins. Once I get Ozma, Lysol, and Houdini, then I can make this mix.
Hag Me, At The Stake, They All Must Be Slaughtered, Air Breather Deep In The Arms Of Morphius, and Lividity (well, sorta)

whoever said POTRE.....right on.
I've actually heard of them for 5 years and listened to a bunch of songs, but haven't bought any albums until this year.

It's heavy and dark, but doomy?
I had expected everyone would cry out loud Eye Flys when this thread was created.
I guess its too obvious of an answer?
Matt's bass lines there are the principles of doom.
The demo is pretty cool too.
i wouldn't consider eye flys their doomiest song, it could be doomier if the bass wasn't so clean.
I would put the COD version of Eye Flys on the doom mix.
I just thought of something, I hope Kapila here can fit all this stuff onto one CD. A lot of these songs are at least 7 minutes.
At The Stake is almost 8, Lividity is 9, Anti-Vermin Seed is frickin' 15.....

Alex, here's your answer with the first song.
This record shows what I love about the Melvins.
Release a silly 7" with two bad recorded songs.
But it's everything I want to hear.

So what did you think?
Is it With Yo Heart, Not Yo Hands?
Perhaps the "doomiest" Melvins song: Over From Under The Excrement.
