It's the release that sold me on the melvins up until I got LYSOL. It's worth the admission alone for Joe grabbing the kid and shoving him back into the crowd and Dale standing on his drum kit wearing only a purple speedo during Boris.

Yes!  But make sure you're familiar with Ozma, Bullhead, and Eggnog first.

I can't remember Joe doing that........all I remember is some doucher jumping up on stage with a leather jacket, looking out into the crowd with a "I'm the coolest" look on his face......then getting absolutely slammed in the back which sends him flying into the crammed crowd. The other cool part is when Joe is lying on the ground bangin out some riffs while some poor kids are getting squished right next to his head.

The DVD is indeed awesome but I'd much prefer a new DVD from the Atlantic years.

Like Norecess said, essential.

Glen you talking about when Dale stands on his drum stool and does a little dance?

It's a great document of the relatively young melvins, especially if you never saw them perform back in the day. In that sense, it's essential.
Be forewarned: The amateurish camera work is almost unbearably shitty at several points.

Personally, I'd prefer a DVD of their recent in-store performance at Amoeba Records that was linked to here a while ago.

That was basically it. During Antitoxidote. I guess I just described it funny.

Still awesome, though. Hog Leg was my favorite part easily.

My favorite part is where the camera focuses on Buzz down tuning his guitar for Boris. You know it's coming but nothing prepares you for the awesomeness.

You know, that's actually my favorite part, I just would have put it differently :D

Buzz'n'sync is another highlight

In connection to the other thread....This DVD was the first Melvins purchase I EVER made. During a time where I collected a lot of live bootlegs and was solely judging bands on their live performances, etc. There is no better live DVD. Right? I am talking about from any live band, ever. Being that there hasn't ever been another official one from this band.

Yes, it CAN NO'T get MORE essential than this DVD, from the Melvins, in their relatively, early years.

I was at this show. First time I ever saw the melvins.  Joe was not in a very good mood that night. He was selling the Bullhead shirts and Fiend Club shirts  in the corner before the show and was less than friendly, to put it lightly. Maybe he resented selling merch.  I used to go to alot of shows at the Surf Club back then and this one was by far the craziest for me.  I'd never seen anything like it before.

Awesome dvd, hopefully they'll release an official new one (with current lineup) sometime.  The fantomas/melvins big band one was good, but it would be nice to have a new one that's more Melvins and less Fantomas.
