This band, Panthers opened for Big Buisness and Pelican last week. The lead singer had on some Vans-style shoes that had the Misfits skull logo on them in a big black on white print. Those looked pretty cool I thought.

I got a feeling a bunch of bands will eventually try to do this too. I thought I read somewhere that Slayer was going to have some footwear. Melvins are always at least one step ahead of others (no pun intended). I am surprised that the way Buzz now has their main CD sleeve artwork on the back of the case hasn't caught on. It does allow maximum exposure to the artwork.

can't say as I recall ANYBODY fessing up to owning a pair of these.
i experienced seeing my first pair yesterday, on a pre-haircut vinny lookalike no less!
You would think they would be easy to find in Portland (Nike is headquartered here). First, the were only sold at two skateshops in town, and by the time I tracked 'em down they had one pair left, not my size, for way to much money:(

the look of the shoe don't appeal to me at all (not the design, but the shoe itself.. it's got seams everywhere).
the white ones look ok though, if they were like 20 bucks i would have bought them, just to have an extra pair :P
but i usually buy my kicks on amazon :D i end up paying like $70 (shipping included) for something that would cost AT LEAST $200 over here :)

I personally thought the black ones looked alright, but I'm not paying that much for shoes. It's funny that the Melvins release so many wacky things over the years (fetus in a jar? An 8-track tape???), yet no one was cool with the shoes at all.
If i found the shoes somewhere i might buy them just for collectable purposes, if they didn't cost too much that is.
i liked the shoes!
if they weren't made by nike i might have bought them (and if they were much cheaper).

I would buy Melvins shoes if they didn't suck. Like maybe some Chucks with the Melvins Army logo where the All Star logo is. In black of course. Add some red stitching.

I think the black ones with the skull tipped toes are pretty cool......... I've had several people comment on em without any knowledge of the band - plus they're very comfortable (1st pair of sneakers I've bought in about 8 years - haha)

Yeah I completely agree that the Melvins Nike shoes are just amazing. I had such an amazing experience with it. In fact now I was just thinking to invest in Nike workout leggings (https://www.carbon38.com/shop-all-activewear/bottoms) as well as tank tops for my Zumba classes. It is hard to find any sale offers right now. Is there any upcoming sale?

I have a pair in my closet, they're all worn out but I can't throw them away. I don't remember for the life of me where I bought them from. I got the black pair. They weren't that comfortable tbh.

I have a pair of RECS skate shoes same deal they're basically dry and fallen apart, one time I wore them out of retirement to highschool and one of the skater kids came up to me and said if those shoes were his he would like frame them on his wall for the rest of his life. :lol: 8)
