Well I know I havent posted in a while guys but a couple months ago you guys helped me get into the melvins. After I got Houdini from a friend I wanted more and you guys recommended Bullhead and HAT next. I did and I fell in love with those albums. Now on Oct. 5 I will be seeing them in Cleveland at the Grog Shop. I cant wait, I just thought I would make a thread about it, mainly because I have to tell the world or I will explode.
hey congratulations! you think you love them now? your life is about to change, buddy. take everything you ever thought you knew about live music and kiss it goodbye.
that's how i feel anyway........there's live music, then there's a melvins concert.
you must report back to this thread after you see them.
the only downside is that you're seeing them on a tour that so many people are saying is better than ever. when you see them in the future will they be able to live up to this performance?
I'll be at the Cleveland show, as well. 8)
Also, Vinney, please tell me you went and saw the Flaming Lips.
..i didn't. it was kinda expensive, and i don't really like them that much. i hear their live shows are amazing, but i don't like their records very much at all.
i kinda feel like i should have just for the experience, and because it was on my campus. but, like i said, i didn't. you saw they were at UVM?

And forget this. Melvins can change your perspective on music, but that doesn't mean you should limit yourself to Melvins only.

i said they can change your perspective, just as you did

Last time I counted I had 26 cd's I believe, something like that anyway. snajdan, you should be able to accomplish that within 3 years or so, I speak from experience. I should add I also buy a lot of cd's.

i'll scratch a check for that! :P
you can go ahead and make that payable to me.
one word for all of your melvins needs. soulseek.
Over the last 6 months I have picked up the following melvins (In this order) through the proper legal channels:
"Newdini" for brevity's sake
Stoner Witch
Stag
H.A.T
The Bootlicker
The only melvins song I've ever downloaded (other than live material) is Civilized Worm. Spend your entire fortune on the Melvins, neither you nor they will be disappointed.

how could you????
I'm SOOO disapointed fart. you're supposed to direct these newer melvins fans to purchase all releases through the proper avenues. downloading is ILLEGAL! not to mention thievery!
you ought to be ashamed.
:o (just call me lars ulrich junior)
I support most of the artist I love. Except like mainstream bands.
slsk is the only way some stuff will ever be heard. dont forget glen, listening to the melvins causes terminal cases of overspending when it comes to anything with the name "melvins" on it. tell it to my qee.
Holy Shit - I'm gonna see the Melvins too -every florida date > . . .

I just saw them, and it was a pretty good show. I enjoyed myself, although there were some setbacks. For example, drunk people, and not being able to hear any vocals. I was standing right in front of Jared. If you want to know who I was, I was probably the only black guy there, also I had a black thin lizzy shirt on. The crowd must have all been drunk, moshers, and crowd surfers were kind of pissing me off but whatever. I had a good time, but It wasnt the best show I ever been to or anything. Oh yea, Dale and Coady owned, severely.
yea, the drunk moshers always make it slightly less enjoyable...especially when you have a fucking poster in your hand like an idiot. (this is a reference to something dumb i did once, not to be misinterpreted as an attack on anyone who might have done the same.)
it wasn't the best concert you've ever seen? what was? i honestly want to know, i'm not trying to imply it should have been.

Rush. Not to take away from the Melvins its just that there were some technical difficulties. when they played. I still loved it, it was awesome especially when me and Jarred looked each other in the eye with this goofy evil look. And befiore the show Buzz was like 7 steps away from me, I was going to ask him to sign my copy of gluey porch treatments but I was scared.
Come to think of it, this concert may have been the greatest night of my life. I mean I was front row at a Melvins show. Sure there was some setbacks but I got to meet some new people, some even Mike Patton and Devin Townsend fanboys like myself. Not to mention the eye contact that I made with Jarred, Coady and Dale. I mean I did stand out alot but still... And they played Sky Pup, which was awesome. And Coady and Dale gave one of the greatest performances ever.
