So, who went????????
The dust is still settling on my brain.................................... Heaviest I have ever seen them by far..................
This show will become legend.
Buzz and Dale and Coady played Sacrifice with Flipper, then Dale drummed Sexbomb Baby. I released a little sexbomb of my own.
It's too early for me to talk about this last weekend at length. I'm in (a) Melvins induced shock
Me too.............. I'm still struggling to comprehend it.........
In my thirty years on this planet we call earth, orbiting an average sun on the outer edge of a spiral arm far.. far... away from galatic center, I can say with out a shadow of a doubt, I have never seen anything quite rock my balls like what went down in the Scala last night.
This is no fan-boy ass licking, I've seen many fine performances, of all kinds of music. But last night the heavens parted, and the universal mind blessed us with perfection!
Myths will be spoken of and religons will be formed....
Sadly I had to leave after A History Of Bad Men to catch the last train home, or more like I was dragged kicking and screaming. Major sin I know, but what songs did I miss.
I first saw the Melvins in 1994 and many times since but I have to say what I witnessed last night was possibly the greatest gig ever!
If the gig had finished after Coady, Dale and Buzz played Sacrifice with Flipper I would have been ecstatic but the fact we were only half way through the show was unbelievable!
I took my mate along who isn't a Melvins fan and he was absolutely blown away.... they are true legends!
I had to leave early too! I started walking to the back when a History of Bad Men was finishing then they started to play revolve and i was like AAARRRGGHH!! so i had to stop and watch that, then leg it to euston station [but i can easly say that was one of the best gigs i have ever been to]
oh yeah does anyone know what songs they played after revolve??
Yo! I went to this. It was the third show in four days for the people who went to ATP. Having had the six hours sleep all weekend I was totally out of it by the time I got to the Scala. Where I was you could barely hear Buzz's guitar for the first half an hour and there were many meatheads who took their shirts off and proceeded to punch me in the mouth! So I loved Big Business and Flipper (with Melvins Sacrifice/a bit of sex bomb) but the repeated blows to the head from aggressive cunts made me enjoy the Melvins a bit less. Admittedly I should have just got out the way but I was really tired and spaced out.
And I met Maarten, Klump and Lunica for about 10 seconds but I was on another planet and had to run and get a train. But at least it happened!
For me the first ATP show will go down as the legendary one. I mean, Flipper followed by Melvins followed by Stooges. It doesn't really get any better than that!

Maar Maar & The Luni-Chicks.
Yeah, its way too early to talk about..
I tried in the ATP thread, but it turned out like a maze.
Maybe tomorrow.
I think I need to get some sleep now. I gotta work tomorrow, and I'm tireeeed. I think. Its like I'm in a trance. I had a Melvins overdose, and now theres just a ringing sound left in my ears. But at least I'm as happy as I've ever been. And tired. And intense?
:D :D :D
So Andy, were you the one we met outside?
Wow weeeeeeeeeee what a show.
I also had to leave early - so would love to see a full track listing if anyone can remember it?
I have so far....
The Talking Horse
The Bloated Pope
Civilized Worm
Set Me Straight / DCH
Sky Pup
Let It All Be
Rat Faced Granny
.....Oh hang on, I think I've missed one....well anyway, that's about the time I had to leave. So If anyone can complete their set, I would be joyous.
PORN (the men of) had me in stitches... Dale was hilarious as fat Elvis. I saw Dale before the show - he was telling the truth when he said they'd had takeaway.
there was this guy standing next to me who must have liked me a lot, because he was trying to squeeze himself onto my left shoulder. he was quite persistant but so was I. I started leaning on him after a while, I dont think he liked that, hehe.
then a guy strangled his girlfriend and gave her a wee slap and went off...
strange stuff.
the show was great, its seems like they are really having fun, and are really doing EVERYTHING to make the best show possible.

Yeah I saw he grabbed her pretty violently and aggressively, and then they left. More space! John told me about that whole thing later when we were waiting for the tube, and I had also seen that, but didn't why it happened. John told me the girl was talking to him and the guy was looking over his shoulder constantly to keep an eye on it. So that was why. She should have pushed him off the balcony, it would have fitted into the evening. He would be dead and more fun to us!
We could have gotten pictures!
And what a great story that would have been.. :D
I just remembered .. The track was Oven, How could I forget that.
Still after a set list though.
I did walk past people i thought where klump, maarten and lunica on the stairs but paused and thought nahhh no way. Probably was them but i didnt want to make a tit out of myself going your from the snivlem.net.
As for the gig it was amazing nothing could beat it.
All the bands were on top form. I was right at the front and there a few twats about in the middle.
Anyone else notice the whole way through the melvins set krist was on his knees watching off to the right of the stage.
I took me mate and girlfriend with me as well both had never seen the melvins and had between them before the gig only heard about 10 random songs i thought i would introduce them properlt by blowing there minds out at a gig and it worked they have been converted and are both already on there way to wanting to buy every cd.
Where was every one standing?
Goddammit. I want to see Flipper :(

Where would you get that impression? Of course you should have come over to us and say hello. I can understand it could come off as weird, especially since you weren't sure, but most people were pretty under the influence of Melvins mainly anyway. We were on some sort of balcony, on the left side. We were with 10 people or something, including some London people who were friends of MacBastard. I was the tall guy wearing a Melvins Army t-shirt.
We all love tits, so it wouldn't have bothered us at all!
Speaking of people making a tit oout of themselves, there was a guy walking around on London Bridge dressed up as a testicle, just like the friendly fellow on this website: http://www.malecancer.net.
Well then next time i see you at the next mELVInS gig i shall put a strap a nipple on my head and come over.
It was the melvins army t shirt i noticed, and then lunicas hair and klump who i have seen one pic of but some reason you look at him and you can just tell thats klump.
Did you go the houdini show maarten?
He, I also didn't recognize klump very well when they arrived at ATP on Friday.
No I didn't go to the Houdini show. This was my first time in the UK, and normally I don't go to London shows, as most bands usually also do shows in Amsterdam, plus it's quite expensive to go there, and even more, being there!
I just started to count off for the Porn/BB/Melvins set at Roadburn in April!

So Andy, were you the one we met outside?
Yeah, in the bar? I guess so! Honestly I was so tired/drunk by that point i'm not even sure it happened. But I think it did!
At the bar? I remember we met some guy outside right before Maarten, Jachem and MacBastard were leaving. That wasn't you?

I don't think we met anyone outside. I saw Andy when you had picked up the jackets I think. The guy wearing a Boredemos shirt, if you can remember that. He looked tired and confused, so it was a short meeting :D
Oh, I remember the tired and confused guy, I guess I just forgot where we met him.

We ate one.
I peeled it, but realized I'd gotten a bad one. The black spots weren't too appealing, so I got a new one. It was pretty damn sweet, if I might say so!
Was it a big long one?
Yeah, the small one didn't appeal to me.

I thought dames say banana size doesn't matter. What if you like small bananananas?? :-k

Which one of the three do you mean?
Btw, Jochem is doing OK now, Something comes out of it again, and it looked like pee at least.
HAHAHA.
Tell him I'm glad he's ok.
I didn't mean for it to break.
Must have been the bananas...

Yeah of course, you don't go eating bananas alone while in company, that's just... RUDE
They would all die out of envy.
Besides, they taste much better when you eat them together :D
But it has to be from left to right, not right to left.
It simply doesn't work that way.
A tip to everyone: peel the banana before consuming it.
And put the peel back on when you're done, thank you!

there's still nothing as wierd as rusty shackleford walking down a busy nashville street hollering "FART LIPS! FART LIPS! FART LIP!" and me answering!
hahahha thats priceless!

Jesus Christ, Maar! What the hell did you guys do to Jochem???
Oh, it wasn't us doing it - He managed to do it all by himself.
Bananas work in mysterious ways :)
Did anyone else spot Jared and Coady hanging out by the bar some time before Flipper started?

its a banana, not a cob of corn. you eat it from top to bottom! heLLOOOOO???
(careful on those peels though, they're awful slippery.)
So am I!
