This was my first melvins show and it was fucking amazing. Porn were really good, i hadnt heard them before so didnt know what to expect but they were really cool. During porn's last song dale was joined by coady and the dale left the stage, the bass player from porn was then joined by jared and porns bass player left the stage thus leaving us with big business. Big business were great and the bass sounded amazing dale crover played guitar for a couple of songs and then left. The two guys from big business were quite funny with jared saying fuck yeah after almost every song and then coady saying i dont mean to blow my own trumpet but we are on fire tonight. Eventually big business were joined by dale and buzzo during "another fourth of july ruined". They played most of (a) senile animal plus a couple of others like the bit, the bloated pope, oven and a new song called suicide in progress. i cant remember that last song they played but i'm pretty sure it was from (a) senile animal once the song ended king buzzo left the stage while the drummers played a little solo, jared started tuning his bass really low and playing random notes and bending strings then coady stood up on his drum kit while hitting symbols threw his sticks into the crowd and left the stage leaving dale and jared. They both started crying into the microphones while dale was just hitting symbols and stuff jared continued crying "wah wah" while dale started saying "i pissed my pants i shit my pants, are you a man or a woman" then they both walked off stage. It was a strange ending to a great show.
Yeah, awesome show. I met Jared out in the street, and Dale inside in the foyer, both seemed pretty sound.
Big Business played Focus Pocus and Easter Romantic from HftS, and then four or five from HctW. For the Melvins set I remember most of A Senile Animal, Oven, The Bloated Pope, Let It All Be, Suicide in Progress, Set Me Straight > DCM > Sky Pup, The Bit and the Ballad of Dwight Fry from Lysol to finish. All three bands were fucking brutal; my ears are still ringing because of Porn's fucking loud feedback. It was an incredible show, and the way that the bands are all kind of close-knit meant there was no waiting around between acts. What really surprised was how they're so fucking tight as a four-piece, it was mind-blowing. I suppose we were lucky in seeing them on the last night of the tour, at their most practiced.
Merch was really well-priced too. I got a Melvins shirt with a pink squid and the Big Business shirt and album for 30 Euro, that's like

It was a shoe, I think, or possibly like a bag of something wrapped up. I saw the guy throwing it as I was in front of Buzzo looking across to Jared and Dale - he kind of threw it
to him more than at him. Buzz kicked it off the stage and forgot about it in 3 seconds flat.
I think the same guy threw a CD onto Dale's kit at the end of the show; probably just brought some shit to throw to the band. Went about it the wrong way though. I'd be more inclined to give it to a roadie or try wait around the venue afterwards rather than hassle them with it and distract them while they're peforming.

theres the old MELVINS I know and love!
A friend came with me to the show not knowing much Melvins stuff, expecting a good typical metal gig where he could mosh or whatever. I think he was surprised for the better.
