female sex buddy that is. Don't want no jesus freaks with a sausage hitting on me :o
witches bleed once a month i hear
This song has grown on me a lot since the album came out. I'm still listening to it constantly, by the way. I like the faster, live version of it better.
Seeing ASA played/executed live is better than the record, if i'm being too simplistic

Agreed. Melvins are always better live. Any album. Perfectly simple.

I'm not Condy, but I'll answer. Just type Melvins in the search bar on that link. There is four songs or so I think from the SXSW show, plus some of the old videos.
My goodness, Conda, this is a goldmine you have threaded into. Blood Witch is superb, and as Idle said, it`s other performances from the same concert, Rat Faced Granny for excample, that kicks butt.
No sausage, Condy? How about a good old norwegian Bratwurst?

this video rocked. great version. its inspiring me to get asa out again.
the more triologyeee, HATeeee, sound comes out in this video. I think you nailed it conda, simplistically. :D
yeah but it sounds so much better on this video. it looses that weird hollow sound after every break in the drums.
get out (A)SA and pop it in. skip to Blood Witch. after the DUM DUM,DUM,DUM you hear a brief little collapsing echo of the drums, in every pause. not sure what that is exactly but it bugs me.
Quote from: Dudbean on June 06, 2007, 07:46:00 PM
Blood Witch is a boring song.
DUM pause DUM.. DUM DUM pause DUM pause DUM.. DUM DUM
It picks up after the beginning section, but that particular style that the Melvins use on this song, and at least one from the Bootlicker, isn't interesting to me in the slightest.
Nonetheless, great videos.
Word, son.
No, not word. Blood Witch is a tight number in this clip, as are all the rest.
The hollow echo you hear glen is compression, and the song is better without it,
hence my effusive praise of the live performance(s) of songs from ASA.
I've always loved blood witch
This thread rules, thanks for the links!
No prob, we share all the Melvin-y goodness 'round these parts. :o

hehe, I actually like that sound, glen. It sounds a bit like a quiet cymbal of some sort. It distracts me from listening to that boring riff. (I can see all the cursers hovering over "prick" right now.) Hey, at least the last 40 seconds are good. I do like what the drummers are doing in the background. But if I was Jared or Buzz I'd be bored with the first two minutes. And again, I'd much rather see that video than not. Thanks for posting those, evilisin and anaconda.
Thanks for the post props.
Blood Witch sounds kinda like Damage Inc., only way better hahaha

Neh, it was late when I wrote that. Now it's even later, and I'm listening to (A)SA.
I too was at this show. My first Melvins I'm ashamed to say.
