YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!
QUESTIONS COMING SOON!!!
Mackie played bass in Gashley Snubb and the Get Hustle; any plans of a future collab. with her?
What would it cost, ballpark figure, to hire the Melvins to play a private show?
After the late 2007 tour is over, are there plans for a european tour? Or tours for sideproject bands, like Venomous concept, porn, or Fantomas?
On your recent amrep single that haze put out, you've got songs like 'smash the state,' I assume they're an homage to old punk songs? Smash the State sounds like an anarchist slogan..
Not that they would ever answer this seriously, but .....
Where do they draw inspiration for new material from after so many records and years in the biz?
Are they ever going to have someone else handle their artwork besides Mackie?
Since they've pretty much tried everything (genre permitting) have they ever considered creating an acoustic record or is the Bootlicker the closest we'll ever see to that kind of thing?
....and what's new for 2008? DVD? Collaborations? Remixes? Re-Issues? Live? Studio?
Do you have any recent funny stories about Tom Haze?
Is Tim Moss doing a decent job as road manager? Any complaints?
Were you scared playing in Israel during the past recent tour? Any plans for a Brazilian tour?
Touring's a great chance to see different lifestyles and cultures. Any place stick out as a particularly great place for a band to play?
How much would it cost to buy King Buzz's old lobster shirt, and Dales' old speedos? *(I m starting to think this might not be appropriate..)
Was it pre-determined that Jared morph into a mini-Buzzo with the hair and outfits for the sake of stage presence, mirroring the double drums with a double lead singer attack or was it all just a strange coincedence?
Do you remember the bloke in Michigan last tour that gave Tim Moss a bunch of snivlem shirts, and then Tim made the roadies wear theM?? What did you think of the shirts, fans making their own shirts, etc..?
Do you have any tales of creepy fans stalking you?
Do you have any thoughts on the upcoming presidential election?
what made buzz stop drinking? did he ever even drink?
does he rule out having wine on special occasions even if he's
not a drinker?
What are the Melvins' favorite songs to play live? Least favorite?
What is the most challenging Melvins song to play?
Is Buzz a Mariners fan or an LA team fan or does he just go to Baseball games to eat garlic fries?
What is HFSPR? Apparently something that happened before I joined.....
HFSPR = "Holy F_cking Shit Please Read" aka the Vinny Thread aka The Vin'terview

What current MLB parks are left on Buzz's 'need to visit' list?
What's Buzz's favorite MLB Team..favorite MLB park?
Who is Buzz's favorite MLB player? (past and present)
Does Dale still own his Dodge Challenger? If so.. can he give a little info on it?
Are Buzz and Dale avid collectors? If so, what are the items that are collected?
What are your 5 favorite films?
Are there any directors you'd particularly like to provide a soundtrack for?
are there any plans on doing another Colossus of Destiny type show?
Were the Lysol/Eggnog shows recorded and are they going to be released?
Do you have any plans for collaborations in the near future?
What is this?
Why haven't the Melvins released a pop standards album yet?
Do any of you ever browse this filthy forum?
Another food related question:
Of all the Melvins projects which one put the most milk on the dinner table?
Who is smiting me, Buzz?
Quote from: the bloat on August 23, 2007, 06:11:52 PM
have they ever considered creating an acoustic record or is the Bootlicker the closest we'll ever see to that kind of thing?
Has Scott Reeder ever been considered/wanted to collaborate with the Melvins?
Are there ever big fights or disagreements during the writing process of songs or albums? Who wins?
Do you ever get nostalgic and listen to old Melvins records?
And the usual...any plans for a live DVD or an Australian and New Zealand tour?
I'd like to know more about any sort of forthcoming non-music releases, like the book and if they would do more because I can't stop buying merchandise, it's hard enough to justify the melvins underwear when the elastic keeps cutting off circulation to my legs but did you have to make editions for every trilogy album etc
What ever happened to the Melvins Army? Are there any future plans for a Melvins fan club?
A. what ever happened to the planned remix album?
B. who gets dogshit duty at the Osborne household?
Buzz & Dale- Do you feel like you are getting old? It doesn't look like that to me when I see you guys play, but how has the aging process affected how you guys work?
Obviously you guys wear your influences well, but how do you feel about how you guys have influenced an entire generation of musicans? Does it ever freak you out or do you just ignore it?
What are your influences?
You all knew Kurt Kobain, right? He was pretty cool, yes?
Do you get together with Courtney Love and reminisce very often?
You're good friends with Calvin Johnson, right? Cool.
If you play Suicide in Progress backwards, the lyrics say 'yip yip'. What does that mean?
Any plans for an Australian tour this year? please!!!! please!!!! please!!!!
Does being the greatest rock band in the world have its downsides?
easy buttholeman, I think you're getting a little over-stimulated here. settle down, take a deep breath.
try to let at least 3 people post before you throw up your next 17 questions. :D

Ritchtie Goodtimes and Tim Moss are both hanging from the edge of a cliff as the result of a drunken love spat.

Hay Anaconda, please schedule more drinking nights and posting nights together. Like old times!!
to the melvins:
On the last tour, you played 'Happy Days theme song' and 'the Gay Rainbow' on a couple of nights after your set. Are you trying specifically to clear the room after your set?
1. Have you (Buzzo or Dale) ever met or hung out with Buckethead? Would either of you consider collaborating with the man? A Melvins/Death Cube K album would be lovely.
2. What's your favorite Frank Zappa album and/or lineup?
For Buzz - How old were you when you first started playing guitar? Did you take lessons at first or were you self taught?

The deed is done, I'll post the video within a week. Some of it is hard to make out due to helmet soundchecking and then the first band playing but for the most part it is fine. Jared played bass at the show but Coady was pre-engaged but will be there for the actual tour.

I didn't really think people would think it would be worth their hard drive space to have a copy of the interview downloaded as a file.... It's basically just me talking with them for an hour. If there's consensus after I post the whole thing on you tube that it is worth having I'll upload it.
What was said before Dale starts laughing and Buzz says 'Excuse me?' Something..holocaust?
Brian this is great. Way to go and thanks for coming through. Part 1 is kind of hard to hear what you all are saying clearly because of the music in the background. Maybe a transcription could be written? Pretty please with sugar on top?

I was talking about how since they liked baseball and are celebrities then they were essentially endorsing steroids, but then I went on to suggest that based on the content of their lyrics they were more or less the most well known holocaust denying band in the u.s. so the steroids thing was small potatoes.

Hate to be a dick, but did it ever get mailed to Brian? :o
come now, mr.black. what ARE you talking about?
So that's a NO then? :P
well. Brian is (as evidenced by
his interview) very responsible and quick to act. he offered to do the digitizing and stuff for me a long time ago and it still is nowhere to be found. so...nopers. i never sent it. if i had, it's fate would have been similar to this interview - only weeks earlier [which would have been totally cool for me on the "scoop" factor - but who is counting?]

so what you're saying is: " it doesn't exist."
I didn't expect Dale's comments about Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters.
I am also going to have to revisit the Neither Here Nor There book and try to figue out what Buzz was talking about.
I loved the bassist questions you were asking.
Hey Brian, have you decided whether or not you're going to post the whole thing as a download yet? No pressure or anything, just wondering.

Unlikely after all the shit talking that was done regarding the sound quality.
Oh come on, how about all the love we gave you!

i think that was more comment than commentary. maybe vinney can host this on.... strike that, maybe brad can host it on his multi-bladed server. personally and honestly it was one of better interviews i've seen with the hard-to-interview melvins crowd.
The question about touring Canada reaffirmed what was once said before with Buzz talking about it costing too much for their livelihood. Its really too bad. I might have to hit up the Detroit show if I can get the resources together.
i will gladly host this on my 'multi-blade', it a cisco. :o

I don't have a problem with the sound. Oh well, thanks again for posting the youtube clips anyway.
i'd host it if i could fit it.
the goldmine is getting sorta stale....
especially the video section.

don't
even
try.
A part of the interview I found interesting was Buzz saying he cleaned out his memoribilia and sold it at the shows.
I know the stuff he was talking about. That English accented dude said it was his stuff last tour.
Wonder why he decided to sell his stuff?

my opinion: buzz is a collector. he collects many, many things. buzz lives in hollywood. hollywood is tight on space. therefore buzz's home is also tight on space. the items collected eventually fill the space available. the living space is then breached and something must be done. choice A: purchase a new home for living and keep the existing home as a place of storage for all the crap. choice B: sell some of the crap.
:D
I've given this alot of thought.
Didnt he also say something about underselling the ebayers?
its pretty simple. he's got too much shit and mackie put her foot down. "clean it buzzo, or hit the road, you mumu-wearing mophead!"

yea, that was cool.....I just wish I had been there to beuy some of it. for me, not ebay.
I sold my wife and it resulted in two things:
1.lots of space to leave crap on
2.I can bring home prostitutes as often as I want
ebay is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
Relatives are also easy to dispose of, medical researchers are always looking for "volunteers".

just watched this
why is Dale so nervous all the time (not just in this video)
this was really an achievement.
I bet Dale is just a hint nervous for what Buzz is gonna say, hehe.

thats not nerves. they call that a Type-B personality.
neh, he doesnt look very relaxed
buzz has him on a short leash.
I finally got to watching this last night and thought Brian did a great job. It was definitely one of the better interviews I have seen of the Melvins. Thumbs up, Brian. That was a nice treat and thanks for sharing it.

Ditto. I'd like to see a download of it someday, if possible.

what made buzz stop drinking? did he ever even drink?
does he rule out having wine on special occasions even if he's
not a drinker?
Buzz is my uncle and I think he just stopped because he wanted to stop getting so sloppy and shit.
:-k Uncle Fest...oh never mind...
This interview is great! Thanks. :o
But is there any chance we or I could have a transcripted version of it? I have problems understanding some of the parts (probably because I'm no native English speaker and have bad ears). From what I understood, it was quite interesting though. Thanks for posting it.
awesome!! thanks for sharing
Great interview, I just grabbed that Sphinctour disc off Buzzs recommendation for $4.50 shipped off amazon. Brian did you maybe blast an oxy before the interview? lol, no offense but you sound a little ripped bro. Awesome that you got to chill with them. It's funny because most musicians just tend to disappoint you when you see them in normalcy, but Dale and the Buzz always have intelligent opinions, and you can tell they, Buzz especially, really think deeply about their art and the art of others. Its refreshing as fuck, thanks for this interview.

true, and Dale too,he's only more reserved than Buzz
yeah totally. Funny how Dale really hits the nail on the head with Dave Grohl...
Class A drummer to a Class C leadman = superfail
I have never watched this interview in its entirety until this morning. awesome interview, thanks!
Okay, I'm new, and on dial up, so it will be 3 days before I get to see the interview. I'm currently psyched about the ATP fest in Monticello. Can I sayit? BOOTLICKER< BOOOTLICER< BOOTLICKER! Hey guys, I used to plan on seeing ya'll in my hometown about every 2 years, now it's going on 3, so I'm travlin and payin big bucks to hear you play, so please play some of the ole bootlickin or maggot tracks up'ere in ole Montysello.
I last attended a show in August of '08 in New Orleans where I met Mr. Brian himself and bought manchild 3. Am currently and eagerly awaiting my copy of the 4th.
