Wont be playing, but should be there as part of melvins.
anyone know what type of set they're doing?
actually I don't know if I wanna know!
sometimes surprises are better with the melvins...
tonight (the) Melvins stone us! 4 cheers!
Where are the reviews??????
o my fucking god... they absolutely killed it tonight. same setlist as lately, the one that starts with "It's Shoved", but with a song or three more, including NIGHT GOAT, but minus Dwight Fry.
did anyone get there in time to see the "surprise opener"? during their set, the dude from 400 Blows said it was Melvins, but we didn't get inside in time to be able to confirm this.
oh and the NYE 2008 "See you in HELL" devil shirts are way cool too.

Good show, similar setlist as San Diego, Tweak Bird didn't show so Melvins played two sets, shirt pictures coming later, no show poster, but some nice guy (talked with him a bit, not being facetious) was selling the most random, inappropriate bootleg silkscreen posters outside. Nice guy, but .. bizarre. Looked like entire melvins crew was there, Mackie, Maureen, Adam, Camella, Dan, + more. I found out I cant text and drink at the same time. 400 blows has a new drummer, they don't seem as great as they used to. Woo!

i got an XL but its on the big side of XL... its a shitty Gildan brand shirt though so it might shrink. they had American Apparel for the girls version of the shirt, but Gildan for dudes. If any Melvins merch people are reading this, please try to use AA tees in the future -- i know they're all trendy and shit, but the truth is they fit better and are better quality. especially when the graphics themselves are so killer. i'd pay the extra buck or two. as Beyonce says, "upgrade, upgrade".

Thanks s-naut..
Being 6' - 3" XLs don't cut it.
Does anyone know what kind of a set list the Melvins did in place of Tweakbird? Just curious if it was the same set or completely different songs.
Melvins did sound amazing last night (as usual) but got there right when 400 Blows went on. 400 Blows doesn't seem quite as powerful with the new drummer, which is too bad. Just not quite the same without Ferdinand.
The bootleg poster guy was just insane, but when you think about it, it's kind of a weird backhanded complement to the Melvins that someone thinks there is actually a "market" for that? F that guy anyway though, hope he didn't sell any.
And BTW, it was heartbreaking for me to see after the show the amount of people giving the Mexican food vendors shit outside of the door. There were a couple of women hot dog vendors who were receiving all kinds of comments from just these idiots just for being there which was very insulting and borderline racist. Sorry, but true. I was really shocked. For those that don't know, Echo Park is historically a Mexican and New Immigrant neighborhood for generations and the only reason the Echo is even there is due to the hyper gentrification going on. Whatever, it was just f'd up to see that. Certainly no one on this site would stoop that low...
But the moral of the story is: Melvins is THE best live band in the history of the world. Period.

I'll try to get the complete set list for everything up tonight.
I can't believe people were hassling the street vendors; I thought the food smelled great.
Great show. Drove out from vegas. Refreshing set for me, since I saw the ASA tour a year ago. I heard the melvins playing when I got into line, thought it was just soundchek. The venue took way too long getting people in the club, and I even had will call, the other line for tix buyers wasn't even being let in. THank god I did will call.
I'm upset I missed an early set. What happend???
Highlights were the bullhead, houdini, and eggnog songs. And of course the extended drone/drum piece with Toshi lending a hand for the finale'.
What were those 2 new songs they played (not hold your hand). New original material? one sounded like a cover possibly.
This was like melvins show # 16 or 17 for me since 1994'. ANd I must say they sounded as crisp and clean as ever. Buzz vocals sounded great, drums were mixed very well with the bass etc.........
Not the loudest melvins show though, dare I say "not loud enough!"
Have a happy new year and...
EMO WITH YOUR FATHER!!!!

Okay, The first set list was
Civilized worm
Copache
Sip
The second was
I***edit***
set list is slightly different than the slims show
<bonus for you coming soon>
Lots of Melvins friends were there; it seemed like a great time for everyone. The melvins seem at the height of popularity, and they all seem like they're enjoying it all. Adam had a goofy grin on his face for most of the melvins' second set. A lot more crowded than the recent San Diego show, but it was a great atmosphere nonetheless. All the melvins women looked great.. dressed fancy? or maybe just good looking. I'll try to get a few of the crowd pictures up, but who knows when. It was the same setlist as the following nye in san francisco, sans the opening set. cheers to you
Thanks, lieverd. What kind of bonus are we talking about here?
