There's an article, a tiny one, in this months Revolver. Don't buy their shitty mag, just go read it at your local new stand. The main point of interest is on the recording of their new album.
how bout this?
you tell us what it says and save us all a trip to the local Barnes & Noble where we might be tempted to look at naked ladies in the artsy photobooks or sensual massage manuals.

I think you're confusing Barnes & Noble with Doc Johnson's Adult Novelty and Video.

I didn't buy it. You'll just have to go to the grocery store and check it out :)

i never even thought about that.
I read the article today. Very small, definitely not worth buying the entire magazine for. It's basically Buzz talking about playing the All Tomorrow's Parties and how all the old bands that were playing (i.e. Gang of Four, Iggy Pop, etc.) aren't making new music, and that they continue to play their old songs. And that he hopes that never happens to him. It also talks about the new album, which quotes it should be released this spring, and how it's different for him to write when incorporating two drummers into the mix.

I think with Iggy, he's trying new music..it's just not doing well (the weirdness?!? ug.) His bread and butter seems to be playing the old standards..which can't be too fun.
I liked that newish song 'Cold Metal' of his from a few years back but then
he goes and does a song like 'Candy' with Kate Pierson from the B-52s and
all the hope for stronger new material drains away once more.
At least those bands are playing fests' like ATP though and not doing
the holiday Inn circuit in Branson, Missouri for the senior citizens.
Even though Buzz might be criticizing those bands, he also highly enjoys a good amount of those bands. Apparently he liked Dinosaur Jr when he saw them a few years ago during one of their first reunion shows, because he told me so, and I heard via via that Buzz and Dale were happy as a child to share stages with Blue Cheer on Roadburn.

he's trying to avoid the "retro-racket" label that jello speaks of on "those dumb punk kids".
he flew all the way out to see cream get back together too.

new melvins in the spring? fuck yes!
last I heard they have a studio date in april.
Last thing I heard was some guy yelling on the street, outside.
I though it was April or May too, let's hope for April. I wonder what the 'releake' date will be.
if its anything like (A)SA then I'll predict a June release.
in true professional, no bullshit fashion Buzz will crack the whip and make it happen instead of milling in circles for months over trivial issues.
record an album. mix an album. release an album. all in about 2 to 3 months.
everything else is excuses and hollywood rock-band crap.
According to Toshi, theyve already recorded Billy Fish and Suicide in Progress so
5 or 6 more tracks and bada boom! bada bing!! We get a nice summer treat.

the scenesters are back in their dorms with plenty of money from mommy and daddy.

I don't see how anyone can think the Melvins aren't the best band in the history of the world

If this would be about logics, I'd bet my money on the following statement: 'anyone can not think the Melvins are the best band in the history of the world.'
sure, that too.
In the new Decibel mag, it has the 25 most Anticipated records of 2008. The new Melvins is on there with a [tentative]release date of May.

Is that why the new album cover looks like a pelican album cover
first its isis, now its pelican, stay focused dc! hehe
its all post-newwave-hardcore-ambient-prog-polka-bro-sludge-industro-neumetal to me :D
Is that really the artwork for the new album? I'm pretty into it. I want to eat it.
Who gives a shit about Pelican? The Melvins can pretty much do whatever they want.
