I don't know, but I believe there's a chance that Amoeba will record it. They do have some nice videos on their site,
stuff like OM, High on Fire and Boris etc.
They record every show and put it up on their website. You'll definitely be able to see it.
Amen.
Anyone going?
bUTTHOLEmAN.
but he'll be incognito. so just walk around the joint yelling out "bUTTHOLE! I'm looking for bUTTHOLE!"
whoever runs in the other direction is him. take him down and snap a pic or two of his elusive ass.
i will be there.
yeah, I'm definitely going to this. I hope they give them at the very least an hour set.
Who went? I was thoroughly impressed, especially with the fact that they knocked out a lot of Nude with Boots and some of ASA in a mere 40 minutes. I wish the guy next to me didn't keep interrupting me when I was talking to my brother before the melvins came on and I REALLY wish he didn't show me nude videos of his girlfriend, who was 1) not attractive, and 2) standing behind him, talking to someone else while he did this. I got some stuff signed too. Hope the rest of you have fun at all these upcoming shows on this tour. If this is just a preview for what's ahead, you guys are in for a real treat. If someone who went has videos/a tracklisting it would be much appreciated.
The show was great, noisier, and better performed live than on cd. Lots of NWB and aSa mixed in, with a surprise Honey-Bucket ~ Roadbull medley thrown in the middle, which I thought was great; the crowd didn't seem to realize it was ROAD BULL!! Dies Irea was the fourth song, Suicide in Progress was the sixth song, .. I'll get a complete listing later if it's not put up. Lots of 'melvin' friends were there, the atmosphere was fun and friendly. Lots of people in the aisles, I got there fifteen minutes before showtime, and lucked out in a relatively decent place to watch. Afterwards, the girl announced that the melvins would be signing the new albums, go buy them at the front, and then proceed to the line at the back. Got to meet Brian Walsby, which was really nice; his last books were great, and the artwork he's done on flyers along with his drumming is legendary. Who knows what I was saying when I was talking to him. A woman from ipecac, i think, was handing out buttons, very cool. It seems awkward asking people to sign their names..but Buzz + the rest were extremely friendly, saying 'Thanks for buying our new album..' It puts you at ease; very cool. Thanks melvins! Two thumbs up.
Was anyone recording the show?

There was at least three cameras; most likely four, recording the show. I'm not sure when they'll have it up, but it was recorded!
It was cool the way they did the signing bit. It wasn't all assembly line like the other signing I went to, they'd actually talk a bit, joke around and whatnot.

Question is this: Is Buttholeman in any of the pictures?
Second time I've seen them play. Great show as everyone has already said. Sound was good, much better than I expected from an "in-store". Everyone was in good spirits, no fights or pushing, must be a mid-day-too-early-to -get-drunk thing, and I liked it that way. Was nice to see them at a decent hour too. Left Riverside at 3:30, got to the store by 5, watched the band, bought a bunch of stuff I didnt need, had dinner in Covina and home by 9:30. I could get used to seeing live music under these conditions.
and the crowd goes wild..

Perhaps that's bUTTY? :D
no way. bUTTY is like a supermodel or something.
all I've ever heard is that he is one handsome dude.
so judging by that pic I'd say he wasn't there.

:P No kidding! There was a lot of swaying, I saw two guys "rocking out" near the front, but..that was it..and the strange thing, when the honeybucket part started up, it all got still. Maybe people were in shock?
I was indeed on the side where the picture is heading, near I thought the window, but most likely closer (possibly row four?). It goes from aisle 1 in the back near the registers to six in front, and then repeats. I don't see myself, if I do I'll say where.
edit: Ok, I think I was back near aisle two, next to the girl shown, but you can't see me. :x
Eric Erlandson from Hole was also there; he seems to show up at everything.

There were a couple of guys that got kicked out because they were shoving people around n' shit. Not sure how you expect to start a pit in the vinyl section.
since i'm having a moment right now let me go ahead and expound upon that:
first of all the song is LOW END for MELVINS. second of all I've seen them play it at least 4 times live now. third of all I wasn't horribly taken by it the first time. fourth of all its a complete waste of 5 minutes of my time at a MELVINS concert when that time could be used to hear a song they haven't played 80 jillion times in the last 2 years. fifth of all JESUS H CHRIST WOULD YOU GET OFF THE OVER SATURATION OF NEW MATERIAL AND MIX A FEW MORE CLASSICS IN!?!?! sixth of all goddam am I sick of that song.
okay, thats better.
how often do you hear the ol' glenster actually talk negative about MELVINS? not too often. therefore my bitch carries more weight.

buddy... you're going to have to explain that logic a little better.
Good times!
Wayyy mellow show.
The signing was the highlight.
After giving BUZZ a GO DODGER BLUE vintage baseball sticker, he stood up, shook my hand firmly and thanked me for being a "longtime fan".-ASIAN sounding?!
Dale signed a 1991 tree stick from the LYSOL days I have been squirreling away.
Anyhoot, I saw them at Amoeba in 2002 with HAT in store...This recent one was more straightforward and tame compared to Kevin's antics and THE HAT small amp set arty vibe.

I didn't see them shoving either, that's just what my brother told me because he could actually see them. We ended up talking to them for a bit and they appeared to be drunk or something so that could've been part of the decision to show them the door.

About 95% sure this is correct. I'm not sure about the order of Suicide in Progress through Billy Fish, I could most definitely be wrong.
Great show, fourth Melvins show. I was in the third aisle away from the stage. I thought Dog Island rocked especially hard, a lot more dynamics than are recognizable on the album. Jared flipped his bass amp over onto his bass at the end of the set. I was at the record store early in the day, Buzz was also there early, talking to friends. Watched them set up a little bit. Saw the other guys arrive as well. Looking forward to Detroit and San Diego.

Honey Bucket had a song following after it; pretty sure it was Roadbull, let me check
It was probably the loudest I've ever heard them. I'm now considering going to the Glasshouse show on Aug. 29th and the Fuck Yeah Fest on August 31st. They've really fucking made the most of this line-up. And Coady is such a goddamn nice guy!
My wife said that the thing that bugged her most (she is not really a fan) was that the harmonized vocals hurt her fillings. If that's not a plug in favor of the Melvins, I don't know what is.

you know the first thing i thought of was diarrhea too. You were on to something.
I've never been to a in store show, sounds like fun. I saw the pics everyone standing in the ails, how can they watch everybody?, you know just in case someone stole some stuff.
Oh and the night in Orangeville, Jarred happen to be wearing a Amoeba shirt, if y'all didn't already know.
They don't need to watch everybody. Amoeba is so awesome that if you steal from that place you instantly become a permanent failure.
Yeah, I suppose you're right, makes sense to me.
