Got one of these at the show in Providence. Was wondering when they'd go up in the shop. Funny y'all are apparently having trouble getting them. The merch table only had the skulls and the squirrels, and they immediately ran out of most sizes of the skull. They had tons of squirrels left and people kept walking away disappointed when Walsby informed them that was all they had left. Said something to me about nobody seeming to want any of the squirrels on this tour.
Squirrel shirt sold out on both tours, D Tox! :P

I hand wash mine for that reason.
I personally haven't had any problems with the mug wearing out...been cleaning it with the dishwasher for months.
I wonder if there were different versions of the mug that were sold?
I got the mug in the bundle but never used it. It's ridiculously huge and I'll just break it. Still using my chipped JAMC mug these days.

I retired my Beef 2000 Shirt, I have owned for more than Half my lifetime, I knew guys who saw them in Toronto at the Opera house and wore their shirts to ribbons, I decided it meant to much to me to wear out...Last time I brought it out of retirement was on my 34th Birthday with the same army pants I've been around the world in a few times...since I was 16. It's a bit rare, If I had to guess the band Simply phoned ahead across the Canadian border and had those shirts pre-made for the Canadian Dates, because they didn't want to pay the Tax on Haling their Shit across the border...which is genius.
I've worn it to so many Special events and places and band rehearsals etc...all through highschool my name was Captain Melvin because I wore army shit and never changed my shirt. :lol:
My dad took me to the Melvins on my 16th birthday and he bought me that Melvins T shirt so it means a lot to me.
He was sitting at the bar at the back and said his pants were flapping during the set. :shock:
the Last time he probably ever went to a rock concert was back in the late 60's when he saw Iron Butterfly and Stuff like Joe Mendleson and Mike Mckenna from the Ugly Duckings playing at the Gasworks.
The Second set kicked off with a nice DSS noise piece, People in the crowd were covering their ears looking around waiting for it to be over, ...it was delightful.

I bought one a while back for the same reason. My old one has holes in both armpits and other random holes and torn areas. Haven't worn it in years but I still have it. The new one seems to be better quality and now in my mid-40s I appreciate the joke on the back a lot more.
You guys gotta buy some white T's to start wearing under your Favourite shirts...I started doing that a few years ago, saves them from being washed too often, you Just wash the undershirts.
I don't need to wear an undershirt. Of the 400+ band shirts I have I always hang them to dry and some that I've had for 25 years are still in good condition. It was this one shirt that just somehow fell apart really quickly.

I don't need to wear an undershirt. Of the 400+ band shirts I have I always hang them to dry and some that I've had for 25 years are still in good condition. It was this one shirt that just somehow fell apart really quickly.

The Stoner Witch and Stag covers are just great in their simplicity, you'd have no idea what kind of music awaits you when looking at those illustrations and you've never heard of the Melvins before. I especially like the swan on the original cover of Stoner Witch.
And yes, I agree that skulls are some of the most cliché (and thus boring) art elements you can use for a band that plays heavier music. Honestly, I don't know why they use them so much in the recent years. I didn't like the similar looking "Basses Loaded" and "A Walk with Love and Death" album covers very much because of it.
It might also all just be a little joke to make fun of heavy metal bands by using cutesy cartoon skulls in abundance, though.

Basses Loaded's cover is pretty bad i think. Funnily enough i still to this day get confused trying to remember if that one is purple or blue? Yeah, AWWLAD's cover is a lot more "tidy" and not that bad. Bassed Loaded on the other hand is far too crowded.

Agreed. I think it would have been better if all the creatures around the skull were coloured differently. All that red was didn't work and compositionally it didn't all fit together too well.
Basses Loaded is just a terrible looking skull. The shape of the eye sockets and the dimple line next to it make it look like the skull has eyebrows and I using them to make a puzzled pansy look. Then the nose is this weird nutsack...

Speaking from a purely visual perspective and without trying to consider nostalgia, i would actually say one of my favourite album covers is Freak Puke. At least in terms of the Mackie, Ipecac ones.
Funnily enough, when i go back and look at all of them, i dare say Melvins have a LOT of bad cover art!! Or at least bad to me anyway. Bullhead, Stag, Houdini, Electroretard and the aforementioned Basses Loaded being frontrunners. Bullhead being easily their worst which is a shame since it's a great record.

agreed- The incongruous fruit basket made the heaviness of bullhead, for example, that much more noticeable. Much better than any typical 'heavy' artwork.

Mackie's art during the Kevin years was particularly well suited, too. I loved the trilogy art and I love the HAT art especially the singles with those brash polka dots. But Colossus of Destiny takes the cake. I find it so Melvinsy and intriguing. Nice typesetting and layout. Serene turned foreboding a bit.

I'm in the same boat. I received neither the t-shirt nor the discs. I was told the latter were even sent out twice. Still sounds all fishy to me.
Then I ordered a bluray through revolve merchandise (received a dvd instead).
No hard feelings, but after paying for it twice and finally watching the documentary – with all the hard work that sure went into it – I felt a bit let down by the whole thing.
