It is interesting to hear how Dave Grohl didn't participate on this album as he was supposed to. Buzz pointed out that they were planning on doing a sort of nirvana/Melvin mashup around the time Dave was working with Paul McCartney on "cut me some slack" in late 2012. I bring this up because a lot of people got offended by buzz when he told the Dave Grohl story during his acoustic tour, which is really sad a lot of people don't get the story or where buzz was coming from. Do you think buzz blew Dave off on that occasion because of Dave blowing off this album? Who knows! Anyways it's a good read!

pretty good interview!
-
Nirvana tracks with Grohl & Krist + Yow on vox!!!
-
thanks dave.
-
The Lukin comments also had me rolling too.
-
I wonder if Buzz just waits for the obligatory Cobain and the fat retard question. He has to be sick of saying the same thing over and over.
-
I think this interview is excellent. Rolling Stone has to be taken seriously if your job is music and you want to put a gallon of milk on the table. Sure, we've heard these questions over and over, but not everyone has.
When Kevin had his personal demons, whatever they were, tour cancelled, lost income.
I take this whole interview as a professional in his field speaking candidly but not being a dumbass.

The Nirvana thing is building up more steam than I've seen in 23 years. Just click like on a story on the Melvins on Facebook and you'll see. Prepare the floodgates! :D

Yeah, too bad that didn't happen, would have been sweet.

Good interview, thanks for sharing.

Yeah, I think of Rolling Stone as a festering boil on the ass-end of journalism in need of lancing, but this was one the better Buzz interviews I've read in a while.

am i the only thinking that album artwork is good?
....also this:
I'm a lot of things, but one thing I'm not doing is sitting next to the phone in curlers, waiting for Dave Grohl to call me, you know?
Buzz, you're the man!

It's nice that I can come here and feel normal for hating dave grohl. Everyone else on the planet thinks he is a god.
Fuck that guy.

Why would you hate Dave Grohl? I'm not some big DG fan by any means but what has he ever done to be hated? I understand (but don't agree with) Buzz slagging him off in the media because he's got an album he's trying to sell and although no god I've never heard of anyone hating him. There's probably a reason for that.

Seriously - Dave Grohl may make stupid music with Foo Fighters - but he kicked ass in Scream, Nirvana, QOTSA, Them Crooked Vultures, Probot and the King Buzzo solo album. I can think of thousands of musicians and pop stars that deserve hate before Grohl. It is very easy to avoid Foo Fighters music.

My list:
Axl Rose
Liam and Noel Gallagher
Lars Ulrich
Kanye West
P Diddy
Luis Miguel

Add Jay Z onto the shit list. He walked by Kool Keith once, totally ignoring him!
The least Grohl could've done was told Buzz, Dale and Novoselic he wasn't turning up.
-
I'm pretty sure Mike Love trumps all the shitbag musicians listed here.

And Papa Wilson trumps the Colonel as worst manager ever.
