Melvins Discussion / Re: Pinkus Abortion Roll-Call

Had a lot of fun last night, despite the casualty outside the venue. Great to see grim Jim and his wife as always, and a super treat to meet the banana cream that holds the board together Glen who is as handsome in person as he is in the magazines, and Dumster J who went through some trials and tribulations to get to the show and back but still was having a blast, a true Canadian if I’ve ever met one!!

As an aside can someone post YouTube clips of the originals of the songs they’re covering in the set this tour?

interesting i thought the vinyl was pink/purple, i wonder if that changed or if they did a gold variant pressing

I know for sure the letterpress version of the album is pink/purple.
Any pics of the letterpress out there?

Yes, and we're not going to find one anywhere.
I know of a few that are out there

So my wife had a few friends order these tapes for me since they are my two favorite songs, and there was no merch at both shows I attended... Nice birthday gift. The only one I ordered was the BBS preorder...

Very cool man, that's a good collection, hope you like them!

I think it's a safe bet you'll all be surprised by what's coming up next!!

487 - blue

not sure what you guys are attempting to do here but there are three shades of blue, two of red, two of green, and two of yellow

In case anyone is interested in the cassette shell details, these are the colors/numbers: (color name descriptions come from the manufacturer )
- 75 - Black
- 75 - Light Pink
- 50 - Lime Green
- 25 - Gray Solid

The Black and Light Pink are "band exclusive" colors. They also got a handful of the Lime Greens.
The Rhodamine Red's have been dubbed the BBS exclusive color so if you choose to make an order when the times comes on the small doses site and want one of those shoot me a PM with your order# to get one of those until they run out if interested. Also, if you ever see one of the dark green tapes on eBay let me know because that means one of my friend's is a jerk

362 = blue

This is only the SECOND Melvins product to be released exclusively on cassette, right? And even that got a vinyl release down the road?
The material on the cassette is included on the below release which was on CD, however we did remaster it for our cassette release and one of the two sets was only in MP3 format on the 3rd disc which is a data disc.

Yep, I got a red. The cover/photo of mine is really weird, basically it could be the cover art if they did a single for "Hideous Woman". (No I don't post pics).  It's an older lady with this ridiculous blond '80s style hair, sitting in a union hall I imagine(since she's wearing a union badge). Looks like she smokes 2 packs a day and has cocktails at 9AM.

Yeah, this lil' fucker sounds great, better than the MPLS CD. Question - Is Side A the Late Set, and Side B the Early Set? I ask because the tape doesn't have printed on it Side A or 1, and it is wound to start with Late Set.

Yep we made the late set the side it was wound to since it was longer, so it is essentially the a side, but we didn't see a need to put a/b on the tape since it's not an album etc. I threw out the idea to Joe of slowing the early set down times four and clipping it, then putting it after the set finished after a brief silence to fill the empty space at the end of the tape but we decided against it. Might have been fun, it sounded cool but never even got to the stage of asking the band about it, it was late in the game and was probably an overstep to consider anyways. Chief, the tape you got has an image of a waitress at Binion's in Las Vegas, kind of thought she looked like she'd fit in as a bit part in a Lynch film so figured you'd get a kick out of it

Yay, look what arrived today!
Very cool man, hope you like it!!

There was a pre-sale for Melvinsdotnet bbs community members that lasted roughly 48 hours. Where were y'all?
72 hours actually, i did that because i knew there was a possibility of folks around here missing out for one reason or another otherwise, even mentioned ahead of that 72-hour window to be on the lookout for the announcement of it!  :buzz:

Is that site crashing, or what?  :?
yeah, i was afraid this might happen. good thing you guys got yours in the pre-sale eh? once a couple hundred people are hitting refresh instead of over 1,000 i'm sure the site will start working again. it's essentially the same method "hackers" use with botnets for denial of service attacks!!

update: joe moved the server to a faster one and the orders are working again, less than 100 left so it looks like they'll be gone by the end of the day, sorry for any pain caused during the initial onsale time!!

Are we allowed to order a second cassette from today's sale if we already ordered from the bbs presale? Or would that lead to a cancellation of one or both transactions? Thanks. Asking for a friend.  8-[

Yep, people that took part in the pre-sale are not subject to the rule of today's public sale as far as one order only, this means you could order two more today if you are so inclined with the same paypal account. We did the pre-sale because we didn't know what the response would be for these and how quickly they would sell out on our end, I wanted to give a few days for people on the board that might not have been on top of things to grab one before today and the response was great, thank you for that! We may get a lot of orders so combining the shipments on the regular and pre-orders may not be possible, this is a two man operation: we did not outsource this work to Canada! They may go quickly or they may take a while to sell, they're cassettes not vinyl so there are a lot of unknowns here!
