I made a post along the lines of 'best thing they've done in years, the last few albums have been too samey' on the thread on their Facebook page, and it got deleted. Some other guy made a comment about the crap guitar tone, also deleted.

Dissent not tolerated.  :?

If you read Chris Connelly's autobiography (which is great, by the way), you see who was the brains behind Ministry when they were actually still any good.

Basically, the only credit Al deserves is for assembling a talented cohort to leech off, and perhaps for creating and cultivating a persona/image that gave the band mass appeal. Musically, it was all down to Barker, Connelly, Rieflin, etc. which is why Ministry sucked so hard once they had all gone.

Oh I am definitely a bigger fan of their older material, but that's alright. I am not impuning on this line up at all.
They have so much material, I wish they would always do two sets at every show and epitomize their career through the setlist. But as Buzz has said the world is not a perfect place.

Last tour (technically the Chicken Switch tour, I guess) kind of did this, did it not? I mean, they played songs from pretty much every album/era over two sets, with a brief interval.

Based on the reviews (and I still haven't heard a single note, Day 2: still going strong, big whoop) the vibe I get is similar to my feelings on the albums Stoner Witch and Stag.

Just coming to the end of first listen, and my immediate reaction has been: seems like Stag, more than anything else.

Count me down as one of those who gets the leak but also buys the album.

Yep.

On the wider point, I've always said that downloading actually helps a band like the Melvins, as a pretty good example of a band that are quite difficult to 'get' unless you hear their whole (or a sizeable chunk of) discography. If someone downloads the entire back catalogue, and likes it, they are going to go and buy the records, or at least go out to some shows, etc.

I think Buzz has said in the past that downloading isn't something that concerns him, has he not?

Excellent. Any chance of the rest of the show? I've been trying to find it since seeing the three videos from it that are on Youtube.

Apparently there's a new Lard in the pipeline

Sounds painful. I think you can get pills for that now though.

Have been assuming they would announce a London date, but it's getting a bit late now. Wouldn't seem to make sense to come over and not play at least one other UK show.

Great cover. Hope they record it at some point.

Went for HAT. Probably does the best job of explaining the Melvins in one album, not that that's really possible.

Weird.  Anyone know what the deal is with that site?  Anyways, here's the interview, eight videos, two parts:

The interview appears to have vanished, replaced with a warning about "attack sites."

:*o(

Yeah, I missed this first time around. Did anyone download it and can post it somewhere?
