People can't smell scented candles. That seems to indicate the pandemic is bad.

Oh, and some Los Angeles hospital had so many dead bodies their morgue was full and they had to stack 'em outside in the rain. So there's that.

All lies. Stop watching CNN, jackass. The plandemic will end when people wake up and say NO to all this shit. Enough already! We're watching 3rd rate players in the NFL play games. NHL is on the way to shutdown, etc etc. More and more concerts are getting cancelled. Why?, because of Omicron which is like a mild cold. Using the Covid/testing protocols from a year ago makes zero sense today

If you feel fine there's no reason to get tested. These people lining up in parking lots to get tested should be punched in the throat. If you're sick,  then just stay home like you learned as a kid. Resume normal life in a day or two when your sniffles go away.

This is a Melvins forum, not QAnon. Chill.

Wait, is Buzz using a wah during all the solos?
Now that was unexpected.
i know this was a cover, but who was this, Buzz or Mark?

This was originally from Wayne Kramer of the MC5's solo record, Hard Stuff. It's an MC5 cover with the Melvins as his backing band so probably Wayne on wah.

I dig it. I listen to a ton of more intricate music like jazz, funk, and prog but I grew up into punk so I'm cool with basic and generic as long as it sounds cool. There's a lot of complex music that doesn't do it for me. Mikes drumming sounds cool in my book. I did notice some interesting drum parts that I wouldn't expect a basic punk or metal drummer to do. Idk. Quality heavy metal and punk to my ears.

Just lyrics to Anti-Vermin Seed and a short essay by Buzz on the album that basically just says nobody liked it when it came out. I think the first time I saw them live was right before this record came out and then the next couple times were on tour for it so it holds a special place in my heart. In my topic 5 Melvins records. The Fool The Meddling Idiot is amazing. They opened with it preceded by Kevin making noise for at least two of the shows I saw. It doesn't hurt that I smoked mad weed and tripped a lot during this period of my life. Haha.

They've been playing I Want To Hold Your Hand live since Kevin was on bass. I'm a huge fan of their cover of a cover. I dig Melvins, Moving Sidewalks, and the Beatles though.

The bass on this is amazing. I don't know if Buzz wrote the baselines or just pulled out songs that he knew Steve could do something cool with. I wouldn't expect these slow grooves from a guy known for power pop. Very cool and underrated.

I could do without another covers record but if they're going back and covering songs from every era in rocknroll history that might be interesting as long as they Melvin-iize em. I'd love to hear them take on Lil Richard and Check Berry then move on to the Beatles and Stones then prof rock and 70s hard rock then early punk. That'd pretty much sum up rock n roll up in till they started playing. As far as spanning 4 albums, I'd rather just listen to the original songs and hear some new Melvins. If they throw in some unexpected or obscure covers it might be interesting.

Fun record. Not one of their best but that's a high bar. Definitely a couple I'd love to hear live when that's a thing. Lots of heavy riffs interspersed with juvenile punk rock humor. I'll take it. Also, Mike is a really good drummer. He's no Dale but who is and it's cool to hear a different take on Buzzo riffs. If you're debating buying this or not, buy it.

I wrote an essay on these lyrics for a college class called Alt Rock Lyrics as Poetry.

Why did they have a falling out with Shitkid? I didn't really like that band so when they weren't on the tour I didn't really look into it. Also, King Buzzo has some stupid opinions but he still seems like a good dude.

I disagree with Buzzo's political views. However, he is allowed to have his opinions and its not like they are a political band.
