Quote from: /////// on May 13, 2025, 04:41:11 PMI always thought we would get another Melvins Lite record at some point. As time has gone on i now think it'll probably not happen. We seem fixed with the Coady, Steven era for at least the foreseeable now. Crazy to think we've had three 1983 albums since Freak Puke.
Yeah recently Buzz was asked if there was recorded material that hasn't seen the light of day and he pretty much said no, that everything they record, they put out. However, I thought he had also said they had recorded another albums worth of material with Trevor maybe ten years ago, so who knows what that's about.
I also recall rumour from years ago that they recorded 50 songs with Trevor. I suppose the more likely situation is that they just didn't!
Or they just recorded fifty jazz improv jams lol.

Melvins Discussion / Re: Buzz interview

Quote from: /////// on April 26, 2025, 04:40:10 PMAn interesting one this. The interviewer is clearly a big fan with plenty of depth of knowledge. He asks some good questions and for once Buzz doesn't just phone his answers in.

Agree this is really interesting to hear Buzz speak outside the normal talking points. Interviewer got him to open up. Felt like a real conversation. Biggest take away - COD vinyl this summer lol!

I always suspected this is is what they were building upon with the string of guest star releases they did covering Black Sabbath, Neil young, black flag etc. Though that had seemingly nothing to do with Jeff Macdonald so maybe I'm on the wrong track.

I appreciate the cameraman's focus on Dale. He knows where the actions at.

Quote from: Chief Ten Beers on March 13, 2025, 06:37:58 PMGot it yesterday. Great fucking collab album. I'll call it an album cuz it clocks in at 33 min. I'd say so far it's a close tie with that and the Helms Alee one as best AmRep collaboration release.

First few songs are like, OK this is good but not exactly what I expected. The last 3 songs things click into high gear, and are the best ones IMO. Love the various effects used. Would be interested to read an in depth interview of who played exactly what and came up with each song. There's some drum fills here and there, where I'm thinking that's definitely not Dale there, not his style.

The closing outro on Death Hour is a hoot, that classic Van Halen riff!
I assumed it was all Dale. I hear Embury on bass and Some guitar shredding that is not Buzz.

Quote from: Dumpster D on December 10, 2024, 05:09:05 PMThose TG Melvins LP's sold out pretty hard... still haven't had a chance to listen to that, I'm just really grateful they put work on something like that, to show some love for TG.

I'd have loved a copy of one of those, is there a download or cheapy CD or anything?

Yeah dude

Melvins Discussion / Re: Savage Imperial Death March Pt 2

Quote from: Chief Ten Beers on November 21, 2024, 05:17:19 PMAnyone else think the Melvins tour lineups of late are more or less "Wash, Rinse, Repeat..."?

For example:
Melvins/Helms Alee - 2016, then again in 2023
Melvins/Napalm Death/WSG - 2016, now again in 2025
The only thing special about this tour and reason for anyone to drive far from their hometown is that Coady's back in the fold. I'm sure the setlist will be great, but with nothing eye-popping as far as songs back in the setlist.
I'm mildly concerned that given Coady's familiarity with playing the material that the set list will reflect the songs from the past few tours. I would think they would dig up some of the BB era songs we haven't seen in awhile. They may have recorded a new album with Coady, so there's potential for new material as well!

I'm a Joyful Noise Early Bird VIP and when I got the early notice of the lathe cut 7" and shirt for this on Tuesday, I tried to order but my password wasn't working and the reset password email wasn't doing anything.  When it was announced to everyone yesterday, I was able to get in but the credit card for my PayPal recently expired and I hadn't updated my account with the new card.  After getting my PayPal account updated, the 7" was already sold out.  Probably all my fault but pretty bummed
I'm a VIP and wasn't getting my discount at checkout so I sent an email for help and they got back to me later after it sold out. I should have just bought it and sorted it later, but I'm pretty annoyed since I pay for the subscription every month and hardly order from them. Thanks for letting me vent.

Quote from: JUDY on August 28, 2024, 09:42:25 AMWhatever you do, don't ask glen where those flexis have been.

all I'm going to say is it may be possible to clone me off what you might find on your flexi.
More Glens=more flexis! 👍
