Hey! Haven't been here in ages, but thought I'd post my Walsby scores from Brooklyn gig at the vast venue called The Wick (please re-direct to correct thread if necessary)! Much to my enjoyment and surprise, turns out the back of the "LITD" art was signed by Buzz with a hilarious sentiment too boot! Also picked-up beautiful gig poster portrait of King B left over from Santos House Party gig the previous night in NYC (pic to follow)! Should have scored even more, had I the cash in hand! King B was killer, as usual! Hello Glennn - wherever you are!

will report back more later - looked like merch was overflowing, especially the one-off Walsby album cover parody sketches (I scored one - more later) - venue poster real cool, scored one of those too - only thing they were out of was Freak Puke CD's - would have / should have scored the vinyl, but seemed the only thing that was a bit pricey @ $ 45.00. Wife took some snaps - will get them here soon. Great show - awesome sound, Buzz cracking jokes and goofing on Trevor (something along the line of "what's the difference between a rocker and a jazzer? A rocker plays three chords and makes $ 1,000.00, a jazzer plays a thousand chords and makes $ 3.00", etc.). Shot about 25 mins. of video too which I hope to post here when time permits. Trevor played a few lines of "Over The Rainbow" during his solo. Great venue - - used to be North Six - completely over-hauled. Audience pretty decent - don't think it was a complete sell-out which is weird - a few douche bags screaming "play a song" during the opening number, which I believe was the first track from FP. Hysterical Grand Funk / Sweet Leaf cough mix intro, and even more hilarious George Thouroughlybad closer - Melvins Lite simply astounding.

Yo Glenny Glen Glen! I've been good, thanks - yeah, "old man" is the operative phrase - just had the "mile stone" birthday two weeks ago - umm...the roman numeral "L" one - LOL! Glad to see you're still here too, pal! Best of everything in 2011 ! You know all us Melvins fans have to stick together!

Yeah - I was thinking about Leslie Nielsen too - he left us earlier this year - had just seen him @ Chiller Expo in NJ, October 2009. Sad news...that probably just leaves Earl Holliman from that cast! Remember him? I think he starred w/Angie Dickinson in "Police Woman" too!

What's news around these parts?

Rocketh on, G-man and friends...

I was watching one of the greatest sci-fi films ever last night on TCM, "Forbidden Planet" (RIP Anne Francis) - which I've seen several times thru the years (and just scored on Blu-Ray also) - and was quite surprised during a scene towards the end where the doctor dies as a result of subjecting himself to the Krell mind-boost machine - Walter Pigeon's character, Morbius, yells "The Fool, The Meddling Idiot!"

Thus was born the origin of the song title, I suspect.

where else can you go to a gig and buy art (a.k.a. venue posters) and still smell the fresh scent of ink on 'em??? The freakin things are right off the press for cryin' out loud! Hats off to Buzz & the boys... they do it up right AND reasonable!

thanks for posting. Buzz continues to be one of the most fascinating creative forces going today - always a blast reading any/all of his interviews.

sidebar: for more cowbell virtuosity, perhaps the greatest ever, see Barrie Wilson of Procol Harum fame...the man was un-fucking-believeable! ("power failure", "bringing home the bacon", "simple sister", etc.)

Wasn't there Mott The Hoople music in this 'Juno' flick, too? Thought I heard 'Dudes' during the tv trailer....side bar: my latest obsession, though, has been impersonating Daniel Day-Lewis in the radio promo for "There Will Be Blood"....
" I....drink....your...MILKSHAKE!! I DRINK IT UP!!"

Don't know why exactly, but that sound bite just cracks me up.

Speaking of Melvins/Beatles...I'm stilling hoping for a Melvins "Illustrated Lyrics" hardcover...now that would be neat.
