Melvins Discussion / Melvins 2025 tour dates
October 02, 2024, 09:59:59 AM
First show for 2025 has been announced. Festival in Bristol, UK in august. Pretty cool lineup, but not really into outdoor festivals myself. I guess this means a UK/euro tour in august. Hope it's with Dale and Coady.

Melvins Discussion / The return of Coady Willis (?)
April 24, 2024, 06:00:26 AM
I was listening to the latest Conan Neutron podcast with Buzz yesterday. Near the end where upcoming things get mentioned Buzz says "were getting Coady back in the band". Also new material with Coady and special live plans. Here is a link: https://youtu.be/1vbjEDYFw_c?si=cv3NnibI-3UxRBew

Really exciting news. Now if this is for one tour and a release or for the foreseeable future I don't know, but from hearing how Buzz mentioned it I do really think we might get the double drumming back. I  couldn't find anything already being mentioned on the forum so started a new thread for this.

I just discovered that Melvins will be playing at least one date in Australia this year, upcoming december at the Meredith Music Festical in Melbourne. I might make some aussie members happy with this :) Here's the source/link to event: http://2013.mmf.com.au/

also here's a link to previous lineup of this festival:

Melvins Show Reviews / Haarlem, 25 april 2013
April 26, 2013, 04:54:33 PM
Everything started with waiting for almost 30 min in front of the venue in Haarlem, named Patronaat. My own fault though, with gigs like the Melvins I just need to be there on time for myself whatever happens. Always building in some extra safety.

When the doors finally opened, I went inside and decided to check out the merch right away. Big Business was on in 30 min so I had plenty of time. They sold the same three shirts as in Bristol, the two new ones and the one with the fly which they also sold last year, or two years ago on tour. Can't remember. Besides that, they had posters of the show. Big Biz had the Wild Kingdom 7'' and the american version of Quadruple 12'', also three shirts, Lion one, Barbarian one and the ugly silver/purple skull one.

Bought the poster, 7'' and eventually the Lion shirt.. While buying the merch guy was talking to someone next to me about the show in Brussels the night before. He told that the crowd was way too drunk there, and that it was quite a shit show becouse of that. They were really, really drunk he explaned.

After some more waiting, I met again with Radster from the board and his girlfriend. Also saw Norecess there as usual. Besides that no boardies that i'm aware of were in Haarlem.
On the stage the two drum sets were set up next to each other like a regular Melvins show, so not like the show in Bristol were they decided to put Dale's drumset behind Coady's one. Already started hoping that Coady would join Melvins lite, and Dale to join Big Biz.

Big Business came on stage with ''I Am A Real American'' the theme song of Hulk Hogan. I can't really remember the exact setlist they played. They started with Focus Pocus though. I won't spoil any more for you. I'm quite sure it was the same setlist as in Bristol. Old Ernie posted that through a link in the Bristol review. After two older songs they started with the new material and Quadruple. I really liked the new songs, one or two of them reminded me of Head For the Shallow. Looking forward to the new record.

After that Melvins came on stage, with no suprising hilarious theme this time.
As always they played the same setlist as the nights before, and the nights after I guess. Couldn't have whished for a better opening song then Eye Flys I guess, never have seen them playing that one before. After that they went on playing shorter songs, and sometimes cool down with for example Let Me Roll It. The setlist can also be found in the Bristol review.

After a song or 5, Buzz started talking to the audience, which I never have seen before here in Holland. He probably was in a good mood or something, or he feels more comfortable talking with the lite formation. He was talking about LSD and that parents should buy their kids a car instead of spending it on their education money.

On the end at Shevil Coady joined Dale on drums. When Buzz and Jared were done with Shevil and the drummers were ready for a drum battle I think like in Bristol, I unfortunately had to leave.
