Melvins Discussion / If the Melvin played the Superbowl.
February 01, 2015, 07:36:03 PM
What would they play? How would it go down? Who would they bring with them?

I would like to hear them play AMAZON or Hooch and maybe some stuff of A Senile Animal? (Civilized Worm? You've Never Been Right?)

I'm sure they might bring some unknowns up there with them, just not sure who? (David Yow?)

As far as the show its self, shit the possibilities that could come out of Mackie's or Haze's head.

Hope some of you are enjoying the game.

Go TEAMS!

Hey, I'm sure this doesn't belong here, so if some mod could repost it where it may be more appropriate.

Which artists got what albums?

Some of them seems a little obvious, but I was never able to pinpoint them all precisely. Like, Panacea had Stoner Witch and Lee Ronaldo had Eggnog.

Is there a good bootleg of this when they played it back in '09?

I have the vinyls, but nothing to rip them with so I can put them on my computer.

I know Dale's drums use to be much bigger, but he's down sized since. Someone point me in the right direction, please.

Melvins Discussion / Make a difference.
September 22, 2010, 05:40:51 PM
Guess who again? I'm dead serious about this shit. Go to the URL at the bottom of the page and turn in a Gig Request for Melvins VS. Lustmord

If you're not a wiener you'll do this. Spare the witty comebacks and the trolling. Doesn't anyone want the to actually happen or do you all just bitch and moan how much the Melvins suck now because they're with Big Business or how Buzz uses a new guitar and not the Les Paul or how they "sold out" after a which ever specific record it is you think they sold out on. Yes, I notice these things.

Melvins Discussion / Melvins vs. Lustmord ATP NY 2011
September 06, 2010, 05:24:02 PM
Alright, there's no one of you on here that wouldn't give something dear to you in return to see this happen. If they got SUNNO))) and Boris to do Altar this year (which was the zenith of the past 10 years for me) why can't they get them to do this? I recall reading something about Buzz would like to do it but, schedules just conflict with them. Or, was it Lustmord wanting to do it? Anyway, it was on my mind the entire weekend while I was at the ATP this year. I hear Lustmord is playing two live shows in Europe this year and those are 2 out of like 6 he's ever done in 20 years. God, people I don't see why this can't work. There's plenty of time for the ATP people to plan it, money has never seemed to be an issue for them, I think it's just a matter of maybe convincing Lustmord to do it and showing the people at the ATP that people want to see that. I'm thinking petition? Anyone else got any ideas. I'm dead serious about this I want to see this happen because I'm planning on going next year and I want this to be the main event.

So, things aren't going so well at my job, I'm a Service Sales Representative for a telephone company. Won't say who but it isn't At&t or Verizon.

I'm close to the point to where they are going to fire me and I think it's personal related so, I am going to be out of a job either by them firing me or me beating them to it and just quitting.

I have a car that I bought two years ago which is turning out to be one of the biggest mistakes of my life because it's kept me at a job I hate for the past two years. I have about 10,000 left on it.

So, it's come down to where I have decided to sell my beloved collection that I have worked so, so hard to get, of all my Melvins stuff. I really hate to part with it because I've had it for so long and it's just so damn cool to be able to say that you have an item that say only 200 other people in the world have. I'm sure there are other people out there that would like a chance to have them other than me though.

If anyone has any idea of about what the items usually run or what you think I could get them for let me know. And if you wanna throw out a price feel free but, chances are I probably won't go for it because I wanna try and just ebay them.

The Boxset #47 I think
The Vinyl Trilogy
Leech
Tora! Tora! Tora!
the singles vols. 1 - 12 the 7 inches
A Senile Animal Boxset
The End LP
various singles on 7 inch. including the Barbaral2
Live at Slim's 8 track.

I also have some rare Boris and Residents stuff if anyone would be interested or, know what it'd run but, I wanna get an idea of what kind of money it would draw in. If it isn't enough it might not be worth it cause it'll make such a small dent.

DVDs are being sold too. I have a good number of Criterion Collections and some rare VHS only stuff. I might just ebay all those though.

Peace.

Who's that guy that Melvins supposedly did an album/material with and he was suppose to contribute vocals but, was never released?

Ok, who has a good quality recording I can listen to? I know there's gotta be someone.

I have no fucking clue but, I turned on the tube to Comedy Central that film Employee of the Month was on so I left it there just to have something to watch while I surfed the web. There was a scene where that Mexican guy from Napoleon Dynamite and the asshole guy in the movie are in Dane Cook's house and sure enough there is a poster on the wall right there in plain view a Melvins and Trevor Dunn's Trio Convulsant poster on the wall.

Dane Cook fucking sucks by the way the movie sucked.

Melvins Discussion / Grumpy's will belong to Buzz???
December 14, 2008, 11:13:18 PM
Correct me if I'm wrong but, the wording on the homepage made it seem like Buzz was going to takeover Grumpy's. Or was it being renamed or something or, is nothing happening at all? That'd be cool if he owned his own place.

Ever seen Cannibal the Musical, Orgazmo, Baseketball? Chola Boy? Hehehehe, that's him indeed. Dian Bachar.

Melvins Discussion / Colossus Of Destiny Pt. II
August 24, 2008, 10:11:55 AM
I've listened to this albums quite a few times and probably more than what some fans ever will. It's received mixed reviews and tons of criticism from people who witnessed it live and on CD. In yet, it's one of Buzz's favorite things they've done and I completely understand why. But, I think it could have been turned into something even cooler. At the end of the track they flow into Eye Flys. What if they did that as a double CD and released the whole second half of the show on the second disc? I wonder if anyone has a bootleg of that nights show.

I just noticed this, thought it was neat. Sort of like a premonition. The riff on that song is the same as the one on A History of Bad Men.

Neeeeeeeeeeat.

Melvins Discussion / Melvins and Lustmord Live
April 09, 2008, 12:39:23 PM
Who else would fucking love to see that shit happen? Would that not be awesome or what? From what I hear Brian (Lustmord) isn't much on playing live and hasn't done it regularly since the 80s but, he played on 6/6/06 and then I think he was the one who suggested playing live with the Melvins. I don't know. But, maybe we should all send a letter to Lustmord saying how much we'd like to see him live. He may...respond to it?

If there be anything that they've done that you haven't liked what is it? Me personally I approve of everything that they've done thus far. I was at the show in Athens in 06 and I was talking to this guy in the merchandise line and I just thought I'd ask what his favorite album was and of course he said, "Houdini." He asked me what my favorite was and I said, "Lysol." The guy looked at me like what the fuck was I talking about. So I told him it was the album with the Native American on the horse. He then replied," What?! Why the fuck do you like that noise shit?" I was stunned, I had in my head why the fuck would you be hear if you didn't like at least THAT album. I tried to explain to him the build up that the first track Hung Bunny leads into Roman Dog Bird which to me is their heaviest song ever. The guy acted like he never even got past Hung Bunny. I was very saddened by this. Why even be here if you don't like all their stuff they've done? It seems the only thing he'd ever heard was Houdini. Don't know. Comments? Things the Melvins have done that you've liked least? Or whatever. Just a twist on things since the board is usually devoted to things that we love about the Melvins or are concerned with.

Melvins Discussion / Melvins nude photos
November 30, 2007, 09:25:52 PM
1) If you clicked on this you're a pervert, I guess. 2) By doing this title people click on it because media has taught people to thrive on shit like this. 3) the point of this post.

The Point
I watched the Melvins Lindsay Lohan stripping scene and I just want to point out to the director of this Hollywood turd, Chris Sivertson, why the fuck would anyone put this level of music in a movie like this. Get out of high school. "I love the Melvins. So, I'm going to exploit using this young hot bitch dancing (not actually stripping) to it so all these low-life pieces of shit will find out what the song is. Afterward, A Histroy of Bad Men will be featured on these fagots' iPod nanos with Brittney Spears Toxic or along side Linkin Park's Breaking the Habit or some bullshit like that. A good usage of Melvins music in a movie I saw recently was in the horror movie The Tripper. Funny concept idea for a horror movie. Serial killer dressed as Ronald Reagan going around killing California hippies. And the usage of their song The Talking Horse was very appropriate I thought, a county sheriff by the name Buzz (Hmmm..) is running from a pack of blood thirsty German shepherds. When I listen to The Talking Horse, I definitely envision people running like mad from angry dogs.

Also, when you think of A History of Bad Men being used as a song for someone to ACTUALLY strip to..it's really kind of hot. I know what I want for my next birthday.
