"Going to be doing some aluminum drum sets and they are being design by Dale Crover. Very very excited about this. One of the best drummers of all time! Go see the Melvins and get the new record, its damn good."

It's the same people who made Buzz's guitar. Should be cool! Interested to hear what aluminium drums sound like.

Here's the thing I don't get when I hear folks worrying about how leaks affect sales. I've been working at an independent record store since the early 90's, so before downloading existed. I generally hear about records when they leak, whether or not I'm into the band. I also see how their records eventually sell. In all that time every single leaked record, with just one exception, has sold at least as well as expected. Often they sell way beyond expectations.  The Animal Collective album from last year and the Joanna Newsome album from this year both leaked and in both cases their labels sold out the first pressings in days.  Sure, there are some folks who D/L instead of buy (although I suspect most of those folks were never buyers to begin with) but the hype that results is priceless and seems to result in a greater number of buyers.

That's interesting (and cool obviously) but at the moment there are kids growing up who think that the main way of listening to music is downloading, and probs illegally. So I think as they grow up the number of sales will eventually start to go down. At least w/hard copies of stuff. Unless the hard copies become more interesting like Buzz seems to be implying.

This was the first Melvins set i've seen where the audience cheered really loudly as they played the first five seconds or so of every song. People were so excited!

Bacon Industry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope they are still playing that by the time they get to Europe.

Fair play to the Melvins - after all this time they can still make me think 'what the fuck is going on here' halfway into the first track.

Look out for the Soft Focus King Buzzo interview with Ian Svenonius, that was filmed at that ATP and will be appearing on vbs.tv soon I guess.

edit: December 3rd!

Creepy? This isn't the 'where is Buzz's house' thread!

Anyway this outro thing is cool. With more Big Businessy style bass.

Cool. VLC player is the best for this stream I find if anyone else is having probs.

Talking to the crowd!

If you're a Dale fan tune in now because his mic is pretty much louder than everything else. You can hear every noise he's making practically. Just a different way of hearing the tunes, Dale lead vocals!

All the drop C tunes followed by Dog Island. Punishing \m/
