Melvins Discussion / Re: Performing unreleased songs

They played Hung Bunny/Roman Bird Dog at a show in early 1992, a long time before Lysol was released. I think they also played Sacrifice and Ballad of Dwight Frye at that show, but I can’t remember for sure.

Were Lysol and the Melvins solo albums released on the same day in 1992? Just wondering. :-s

I don't think so. If I recall correctly, Lysol came out first.

Anyone know if this is true or not?

Unless copies were being held back for other shows, there aren't any left. They sold a lot more in Austin than they had planned on. I watched someone buy the last 10" when I got to the show yesterday.

The 10" sold out before yesterday's show.

Can anyone who is going to one of the upcoming gigs PLEASE PLEASE pick up a copy of the 10" for me? I can Paypal asap (cost + beer ;)).

I'd love to go to this show, but as of right now it's sold out.

Does anyone happen to have an extra ticket?

First time I saw them was in Nashville, TN in Fall of 1991.

They played in a little Indian restaurant on West End.

Joe played bass.

They opened with Charmicarmicat and followed with It's Shoved. Other songs I remember: Eye Flys, Boris, Euthanasia.

The set ended abruptly when Buzz passed out during a song and stayed on the floor for a few minutes.

Good times.

They opened with Into the Void at the Kennel Club. I have a first gen copy of the video somewhere. If I ever find it, I'll post it.

I can't wait for the torrent.

This looks absolutely fabulous!

Thanks for your work.

Nah, that's not "Into the Void."

I did like it, though - especially the first part, which is Kiss's "She."

There's definitely a video of them playing "Into the Void" out there. I once had a copy, but that was many years and many moves ago. If I find it, I'll upload it.

Me neither , but some dvd's I ordered from Beto credit this as Into The Void.

Yeah, Into the Void has been covered by a lot of bands, but the Melvins version was my favorite by far.

The only recording I've seen is a video tape from a west coast show after Joe/Lori and before Mark. They opened with Into the Void, and the club's power went out in the middle of the song. When the power came back on, they resumed the song from the fast part in the middle.

norecess, if you have a recording, I'd love to hear it.

When he said he wanted to go to bed, was that just a statement, or was it an invitation?
Unfortunately just a statement.

Did he touch you inappropriately?
Uhm, no. But I touched his hair. It felt sooooo good.

It's OK. You can tell us.
I would tell you everything.

This board needs more Melvins fan fiction, pls.

Here's an example (probably not safe for work):

Then we went to their bus, and after some minutes we met Buzz. We talked a bit, and after some minutes he said he was tired and wanted to go to bed.
