I'll still go considering these are probably 2 of my favorite bands of all time.
Unfortunately I'll probably have to go alone though becuase the first imperial whateveritis show I went to literally chased all my friends out of the building.  it was so beyond loud that it was literally painful.

at least I hope it was the loudness that chased them off and not like my breath or something.

I did not have high expectations beforehand but they absolutely killed it last night in a'dam. I have seen trevor dunn play before, but never before did I see him excel and shine as he did last night. I had mostly read about his bass chops, but last night I witnessed it first hand. in my opinion he made every song 10x more interesting. simply loved the ambiance of the songs. no chatter in between, eerie vibes, slow pace: dark and heavy as fuck. highlights were roman bird dog (especially the final bit, with trevor adding vocals), boris and revolve (again, sick bass line during the verse).

pretty cool, wasn't it?      the Boris bass line was THEE SICKEST.

slim indeed. it reminds me of that old post of his.

"Why, couches are not to be crashed on, they should be sat on instead. I never understood why people choose to sleep on crouches, quite often unannounced too! I find it much more comfortable to sleep in a bed instead, preferably my own bed. I have also found that sleeping on couches goes along with sleeping in clothes, instead of pyjamas which I find highly unsanitary, you basically sleep in your own sweat on a strange couch, where numerous unknown bums have sat on (and who knows what else!)."

     don't ever tell him I've slept on strange couches, chairs and floors while fully dressed including foot wear.    was alcohol involved?  of course it was.  but ya know what?  I LIVED!

50 people sounds like a very intimate show... how big is the venue?

200 capacity.  it's the basement of St. Andrew's Hall, a famous Detroit venue.

I was a little shocked at the low turn out but they had been in Grand Rapids the night before which is just a couple hours down the road.   plus it was a tuesday night.  people have lives, ya know?

I wasn't trashing on the bass, i was trashing on the sound of it on the videos i had seen. I can imagine it sounds fine live. Glad you had a great time Glen. I am jealous.
