I'd say that's one of those mini tours that they do every now and then - just a few dates. Technically a tour but looking at the year, the BIG, main tour starts in April. It would make sense to have a new record around that. Although Melvins don't always follow that pattern.

No doubt Coady will be drumming with them though.

I never liked Mastodon, other than a song the drummer sings and in the video they're floating in space cool song that, but Mastodon recently did a headline tour with Kerry King supporting them. If KK did a tour with the Melvins his band would be headlining. Mastodon do pretty well for themselves.

I haven't seen ND live but I remember meeting them, unintentionally, at an instore signing on their 'Diatribes' touring cycle many moons ago. A mate at the time was a big ND fan and couldn't go to the show being under 18 so I tagged along with him to the instore signing. He had some albums and stuff he got signed but I had nothing so got one of the free tour posters signed by the band. No idea what ended up happening to the poster, wish I still had it but they were nice guys.

QuoteThe seven-week "Savage Imperial Death March Part II" outing also features an all-star line-up of openers: WEEDEATER (April 4-May 5),TITAN TO TACHYONS featuring MR. BUNGLE's Trevor Dunn (May 7-20),THE HARD-ONS with Jerry A (May 22-June 2) and Shane Embury's DARK SKY BURIAL, who will perform on all dates.

Another Trevor Dunn band? Hard-Ons with Jerry A? Doesn't sound like Tim Rogers will be fronting them for these shows?

Quote from: GiveMe45 on October 18, 2024, 09:16:58 PMHe was actually very conversational, but when he could tell SOAD were about to start, he politely apologized and said he was gonna go watch them from the side of the stage.

That's interesting because a lot of Bungle fans disliked SOAD because they saw Serj and his vocal style as a ripoff of Patton and the music is similar in parts too. I think Serj and SOAD have been open about being Bungle fans, I know the Korn guys were hardcore Bungle fans as were Slipknot, Mushroomhead etc.

A lot of SOAD fans used to want Serj and Patton to work together and they finally did in 2008 when they both did vocals on the same song on a soundtrack, I think it was the Russell Crowe movie Body of Lies.

The guitarist from SOAD Daron and the singer Serj can't agree on how to write together and split the publishing adequately so that's why even though they still play live they haven't released a new album in 20 years.

That festival is owned by SOAD which is why they headlined the first two years but next year instead of SOAD playing at it two of their side bands are, Daron's reactivated Scars on Broadway and Shavo the bass player in SOAD has just started a new band Seven Hours After Violet.

I'm not a SOAD fan at all I just read about all sorts of heavy bands on Blabbermouth so I'm on top of all the SOAD drama between Daron and Serj and the side bands. I think Serj has just released a new solo EP too. The drummer in SOAD John, who is a right-wing guy funnily enough and used to be in Scars on Broadway, owns a comic book store and has just started releasing his own comics too.

Quote from: Bigval on October 17, 2024, 06:08:45 PMStrange it wasn't a King Dunn release, it was Buzzo's second solo album with Dunn as guest.
I noticed that too. I have a feeling Haze forgot about that fact. Or either just put it as KingDunn so they could sell it on their tour.

It's not a King Dunn tour though. Buzz made it clear in an interview I saw just before the tour started that this was the Gift of Sacrifice tour that was meant to happen in 2020 but was cancelled due to Covid. He also said there was an Australian tour for GoS that was booked but got cancelled too.
