If you want to witness the self destruction of Kevin, listen to the soundcheck portion of this show. I knew he was having serious problems, being witness at this show. Not a great recording, but a good documentation of this period of the band, one of my favorites.

Where's Beto? Flamming Lips!

Tomahawk, Melvins, Down, Napalm Death

Ticket prices are kind of outragous!

Scowl is in the line up also.

That's too much exertion for me these days.

Quote from: Bigval on October 04, 2024, 09:45:21 PMI've never bought the good cop/bad cop routine from Ozzy and Sharon, it's complete bullshit he's just as bad as she is for fucking over his musicians like Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake.

The movie about Lee Kerslake called "Not On the Heep" is very touching. The Ozzy stuff is covered in the movie.

Melvins Discussion / Re: Dale Crover Get Well Page !

Pre-show talking to Buzz a while back he said Dale's back issue is "very debilitating".
Dale looked great as he played that night, so he must have been toughing it out.
Get well Dale!

Just woke up and missed it.

Interesting discussion on the original TG recordings. At Clan of Xymox my son was explain what equipment was making the "old" electronic sounds on the tape machine. I thought, you can differentiate that?

I'm really starting to think the Melvins are in the process of severing ties with Ipecac. This email thing is a bit weird given Ipecac send out regular newsletters of their bands new releases and upcoming shows, however Ipecac still hasn't mentioned anything about the Melvins having a new album out, admittedly on another label. I haven't listened to that Dale interview with Heavy Mag a second time but I did think I heard him speak of Ipecac in the past tense, something like "our old label".

The packaging and artwork for the Five Legged Dog release is incredable. Best since Love & Death IMO. When Five Legged Dog arrived in the mail a new name was on the LP shipping box, not Ipecac or BLIXT for that matter.

At the time I thought it was kind of strange that an extra cut of the profits were going to this new entity.

I'll do the math:

Cost of getting a New Release to the consumer, where the money goes:

Ipecac
Vinyl pressing service
LP Jacket Printing
Postal Service
LP Shipping Box manufacturer
Some vendor who puts the LP in the shipping box, addresses the package, and takes said package to the Postal Service.

Profit for the Melvins:
Less than expected

I suspect the agreement between the Melvins and Ipecac over "distribution" expenses may be involved.
