Melvins Discussion / Re: Buzzo's Pedalboard

Thanx for the pics guys

This is not the one I saw, in fact in the pic I'm searching for, there was a DOD Buzz Box, and I was a bit surprised because I read an interview where Buzzo says that he doesn't like the sound of this DOD pedal

Anyone has the setlist from this show? Some pics are always welcome as well :p
The show was great by the way, awesome, spectacular and loud  8) (impressive drumming dale!)

P.S. Does anyone know why they stopped so early with the show and didn't came back? It looked like the roadies didn't know what was happening, i thought it was weird...

Hi, I was a the gig too, Maybe the short lenght of the show is because it was a festival (Domino Festival)

I agree, I get the sense that it's going to be Patton caterwauling all over the melvins songs
like it was on the milleniummonster release, and assorted fantomas songs sprinkled in between

Don't worry, Rembrandt and I will booh Patton everytime he fucks up those classics at the gig in Brussels.
you come at Brussels gig ? Maybe we'll meet again  :)

Melvins Discussion / Switz Interview 2001
January 04, 2006, 06:48:00 AM
Hi everybody, I found it yesterday on the internet, so I translated from French to English for you, sorry if there are mistakes, Buzz is, as usual, very funny.

Kurt Cobain said that the Melvins were is favorite band. Is that important for you ?
(Long silence) Hum, Well, I suppose... but it never changed the way we make music

Do you think that Nirvana helped you ?
Yes, of course... but the band's dans 6 years ago, so they didn't really help us recently...

You released 3 albums on Atlantic Records and, in 1996, you came back to underground distribution. Why did you change ?
We didn't sale enough records, so they stopped working with us

Is that the only reason ?
Absolutely

Do you think that grunge music is still alive ?
I've got no idea... I just don't give a fuck

The fact that people think you come from "grunge scene" doesn't affect you ?
No, I don't care, I have never felt that I was a member of this scene so...

How could you describe the melvins music ?
Good.

Sex, drugs and Rock'n'Roll. Do you agree or is that too symbolic ?
(Silence) Hum. Yes, why not.

Is there any question you don't like ?
Not one more than an other

How could you describe the Melvins in one word ?
One word ? Humm... Useless.

What are your influences ?
I just don't know how to begin, they're so many.

The most important ?
Hummmm... I don't know.

Why is there a rabbit disguised in Hitler in the album booklet ? That's ironic ?
That's "more ironic".

You say that you are the best band of the world. Irony or reality?
We don't have a lot of challengers, so that's a reality.

Do you like playing in Switzerland ?
Yes of course, If we didn't... we would stop coming.

You see yourself as a star ?
Humm no. In fact I don't mind.

Are you better than Nirvana ?
I like to think we are.

But what do YOU think ?
We are a better band, more important.

What would you say to someone who think that the melvins are "has been" ?
Maybe. It depends of what he likes

In which case disregard what I wrote above. It could have been a Virus synth.

Well in fact it's not a "meacnic" sound because we can see a machine making "lights" for each  Biiiiiiip and I can remember there weren't on stage when it sound (as an introduction of the gig) in 2002 in Belgium

Everyone who see The Melvins live, remembers of the intro of "the fool, the meddling idiot" with the noise "biiiiiiiiip biiiiiiiip biiiiiiiip" but what does they use for this sound ?

Melvins Discussion / Buzzo and Ron Acheton ?
December 23, 2005, 12:46:29 PM
In the last "Versus magazine" there's an interview of the boss of Amphetamine Reptile record, called Tom Hazelmyer, (alias Haze XXL), and he talks about a project named "Melvin Stooge' Halo Funtime" with Buzzo, Kevin Rutmanis, Ron Asheton and himself

Who's got more information ???? I'm a big Stooges fan, I can't wait to hear that

hey ozma, what does it mean if on your website it says, "video recording exist"?
It means that we know the video exists (the video is on a trader list for example) but I've got no information about it
