Only just got hold of the album having avoided everything except the Queen cover up to now.

It's really good fun, an eclectic choice of tunes, maybe some of the covers are a bit true to the original, but actually it's a great album to drive/cycle to, and not many Melvins albums feel that way to me (too intense maybe??? I dunno). Made me feel very happy to hear my fave band doing one of my fave songs (Station to Station) and glad that one was note for note almost, though not sure why I was glad. Only criticism I'd have is that I've heard Biafra do that voice (hey, it is his voice I suppose) so many times it's paled a bit for me, but liked the version even if I prefer the Roxy original (their second album is another fave of mine).

Nice work  :D

Melvins Show Reviews / Re: Vancouver, BC - 19 August

I went to see PiL at the Top Rank Cardiff (Wales, yeah well in case you didn't know) in 1983.

Lots of gobbing, beer throwing (sans glasses thank fuck - this was be fore plastic pots were de rigeur). After second song, Lydon said very calmly "Any more spitting or beer throwing we're walking out", cue deluge of liquid effluvia.

End of show. I was vv fed up (at 17 I could only just afford this show)

No real point to this story other than I cannot see why people do this at shows (at the recent London residency show [Houdini/eggnog/lysol) people were chucking beer bottles back into the crowd. Why the fuck???? How is this "punk rock"? Cunts.

Hello, new here, relatively new fan of the band too I guess, dating back only to the Jello albums.
Anyway, as a Bristol resident was lucky enough to be able to stroll down to the venue in about 20 mins. Loved the first night, slightly caught out by the 2nd by thinking they would have another 20 min break between albums, thus headed to the bar and lost my place. Decided to hang back, eventually made my way back in, then felt a little sad it was all over by 10.30. But overall feel honoured to have had the luxury of 2 days thinking "Melvins tonight, hooray", particularly having seen the "Lite" gig just a month ago. What a fucking band, Dale Crover is without doubt my favourite performer, loved the way he dealt with the stage diver during the Houdini set, think the hirsute young lad missed the point altogether.

Nice av, welcome
