Melvins Discussion / Re: The Jared & Coady years
August 02, 2024, 11:50:30 AM
Hey bud! I have themelvins.net in my RSS reader and this time I happened to see a new post and happened to click on it.

Always warms my heart to see this place is still going strong. Got any suggestions for good general threads to hang out on?

There are probably like 12 people in the world that give a fuck about it and they're all on THIS message board. Amiright??

Anyone going to a show that might be willing to pick me up a few things? I had to miss them in NYC last night. First Melvins show I've missed in about a decade.

yea man what do you need?

Vinnie, approaching the 5 Legged Dog tour like...

LOLLL

I'm happy about AN acoustic tour - but I didn't only want acoustic this year.
But the additional reason is I'm bringing two first-time-melvins-show friends tonight and I want them to have the full experience!

I'm looking at my profile and remembering that I once complained about an "influx of doom" on this message board...
What was wrong with me? Doom rules.

This map seems to be missing the Rhode Island show; where I'll be tomorrow night (say hi).

I came here to make sure that this tour isn't acoustic. It seems it isn't. Thank dog!

AMAZON must be one of the most badass Melvins songs. Truly. Such a simple riff and yet it feels great to hear it over and over!!! Love the sight of Buzzo doing his Buzzo thing in the flashing lights at the beginning here.

Aw shit man I was listening to AMAZON the other day for the first time in.... too long; and had the exact same thought. This video really fuckin illustrates it!

Let me know when you are ready for your baptism. I will guide you in the right direction. Like Melvins, if you start at the wrong spot - you may not get hooked.

i, too, am skeptical about Redd Kross... but as good melvins fans we should accept that some bands are delicate to enter and may not be "gotten" after many listens.

I did not like all the silliness of that bass player from Big Business, I prefer Steven by a mile. He may have some silly jumps now and then, but he`s generally the perfect third member of the band.

I'm with you. I think Steven is a nice counterpoint to Buzz and Dale - weird and a little giddy, but not in an overly cheeky hipstery way. More in a "damn, this guy is really into this shit" sorta way. I'm pretty sensitive to the melvins on-stage (or even audience)  atmosphere getting fucked with, but I found myself strangely ok with Steve's adjustment to it.
