Melvins Discussion / King Buzzo's Birthday?
February 01, 2005, 06:52:01 AM
Celebrate Crover's birthday, he's just as worthy as Buzz! From the Melvins.net archives:

23 Oct 02
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DALE!
The band and the whole TOOL camp would like to wish a very happy birthday to our good friend, Melvins drummer DALE CROVER. We'll all hit rockin' Sushi very soon for some sake bombs and table-dancing...

HAHAHAHA,

I'm glad to see they have a selection of leotards, tights and dance shoes. Maybe the Peter-Pan guy can shop there.

Melvins Discussion / melvins shows

NICE. That's what a Melvin's show in Seattle is like bro, exactly. Melvins fans are there for the music, not to kick each other's asses. The shit eating grin does not stop until the next day, when you go into a post Melvins depression for a few days, like your dog died or something. You start looking towards the next show and wearing out all your vinyl and CD's trying to figure out which one is the best.

Melvins Discussion / MELVINS UK
January 29, 2005, 08:18:47 AM
Don't count Kevin out by any means. I think we will see him again in time. If he were out for good I think the Melvins would have made a definite statement to that effect by now. Remember, Buzz does not mince words when it comes to how he feels. You know how he talks about Deutrom and especially Preston. I think you are right about the set, and I really don't think Jello will show up to ruin your day. You are lucky you get to see them! My only saving grace is that I get to see PORN (with Crover) in March. Somebody in the UK needs to take some pics during the shows and post them!

Melvins Discussion / MELVINS UK

Does anyone have any idea what kind of set they are going to play in the UK? Is it POTRE, or more "traditional" Melvins stuff? I bet they go with a little of both and use David Scott Stone on bass. Anyone know?

I asked Dale if "dead car" was about a meth house, because the car is  "rusting dead on the lawn", and the paranoid guy in the house Pulls down the shades to make it look like nobody's home. He said, "No, it's just about a car". Imagine that! Altamont rocks because DALE gets to front and play his Gibson Les Paul Gold Top!

Melvins Discussion / toys of the melvins

They did have all rented gear for the Seattle shows except their guitars. Dale had a few personal gizmos attached to his set. I saw Adam whip out an I-Pod and attach it to one of his pedals at one point for some sort of effect I think.

WOW you know you've reached the pinnicle of rock & roll stardom when people write internet posts about your drunken masterbatory sessions!

You are right, Nardwuar kicks ass! They played a really great and bizarre show on New Years. The audio interviews on Narwuar.com are hilarious. I hear he was out of control at the super secret in store on New Year's day, and was F-ing around with Jello afterwards.

Hey Binkard,

It's:     http://www.kukulkan.host.sk/flesh/

This is Kurva's list of MP3's he's hosting. There's lots of great stuff on there, including Tokyo Japan.

Were you the dude that was jerked from the crowd onto the stage, spun around and made an exit stage left with the bouncer? I didn't see what you did. He actually said you were intimidating? If that was you pulled onto the stage it looked like the bouncer was stalking you before he pounced!

Melvins Discussion / Melvins show in Seattle tomorrow?

Popeye, I was on the balcony right over the top of you, just to the left of the speakers. Was real close to Adam, that was a sweet venue. I need a chiropractor in the worst way I think I gave myself whiplash no kidding.

Melvins Discussion / Melvins show in Seattle tomorrow?

Yes, the bass player is Sir David Scott Stone (SDSS). And your right, Jello was energetic as hell and entertaining. SDSS is practically a Melvin by default as he has been playing with them for years. I wish I could go back and see the New Year's show again, what a treat. I feel lucky as hell to have been able to be there. Buzzo and Dale are really on top of their game right now, and they still do whatever the hell they want despite everyone's continuous debate regarding their current projects.
