Melvins Discussion / Melvins show in Seattle tomorrow?
January 01, 2005, 02:10:29 PM
Holy crap you are RIGHT about them shredding last night, they really turned it on even compared to the night before! It's like they were going as full on as possible. It was like they played at the 20th show in Oly, Buzz was rocking like there was no tomorrow. I really liked the 2 piece that opened, that drummer was outstanding. The Canadians were great too, NARDWAR surfed around on his freakin' keyboard! Buzzo and Dale were laughing their asses off from the wings. SDSS and Adam are great and I have no problem with them joining in with the beloved MELVINS. They are really friendly and all around nice guys too, SDSS was jumping around like his ass was on fire last night. CROVER is too amazing for words and Buzzo and Adam still have my ears ringing.

Yes it was David Scott Stone spanking the plank. He was rocking hard, but you're right Popeye, he was hiding from Jello. I thought Jello's mike stand was going to fly through Dale's floor tom a couple times. We had beers at the Cosmo club across the street, I'll check out your place tonight Popeye. My poor friend has never seen the Melvins and he started pounding whiskey hard. He was puking in the parking lot right before the Melvins went on and passed out in the car for the whole show! Stupid bastard.

The show last night was F-ing great, Adam Jones rocked and of course Buzz-o and Dale were in all their pounding and sludgy glory. I'm going back for round 2 tonight, I'd post a picture but I'm not sure how to do it on here. GO MELVINS

Anyone going to the all ages Melvins/Jello show in Seattle tomorrow? How about the New Year's bash? Anyone recording? I have not the gear to do so. I'm guessing we'll probably see SDSS and maybe Adam Jones? Maybe the clock will strike midnight at the New Year's show and Kevin will jump out and start humping his bass? Damn this is going to be a good show!
You've got that right, the link is down. I thought it was my crappy computer giving me grief again!

Hey Grim, The show is at Neumo's not the Bad Ju Ju Lounge. Also, there are tickets left for the New Years show at
That would be sweet, but I expect they might play tracks from NBWYCS and maybe some Dead Kennedy tunes.........who the hell knows though, it's the MELVINS you never really know till the show.
Did someone say the all ages show wasn't widely advertised? getticketsgetticketsgettickets!
CRAP!! I couldn't get the S.O.B link to work for some reason and missed the show. :x  Did anyone download the stream so I can get it?? &#*@%!!
Melvins Discussion / What Melvins fans need
December 14, 2004, 02:24:36 PM
Quote from: alnisListening to the Orlando bootleg (2004.09.24) right now, I can't help but respond to this thread, which has irked me since it began.

The melvins are TOP FORM right now (problems with Kevin aside). What melvins fans need are for the melvins to progress in exactly the way they are doing right now. There is no question that theyir live set is the best it's ever been. Really really really amazing. And the studio albums (Biafra aside) are outstanding (HAT and POTRE). If the current live sound is any indication of what to expect in future releases, I say STAY THE COURSE! There is nothing wrong and everything right with what they are doing right now.

Melvins fans don't need the melvins to change, the melvins need their fans to change.

I TOTALLY AGREE! Yes the new trend with POTRE and NBWYCS is different, but they ARE in top form. They continue to innovate and stay creative when most bands of 20 years go right down the dumper. I am sure we will be hearing a more "traditional" Melvins release sometime in the future as well.
