Go back to school man. I'm sure even Buzz himself would admit how important and influential Greg Sage and the Wipers were to the Northwest scene and punk/alternative/whatever you want to call it in general.  The original YOA came out in 1980, recorded and produced by the band independently and is at least 10 minutes long. Pretty radical for " wankers " eh?

im not knocking the wipers as hard as you may fear with the obvious passion found in your reply. i'll go the less harsh route and say youth of america is my favorite cover, i think the wipers are splendid, but when the melvins cover something- odds are they're covering it in a way thats going to frost the cake. AND yes i do think buzz would "admit" in a hot minute how influential and important the wipers were. cornerstones shant be refused; eh?

What about a Fugazi type live series?

i think that would be a great idea for people who've never had the fortune to see the melvins live.....
i love the live fugazi stuff and since theyve split into different bands and havent made an album since the argument or furniture ep its awesome to hear the variations in live form. although--- i will have to say that fugazi is not about a profit and logo packaging etc while the melvins seem to have a little bit more of a commercial edge to them-
but hey what do you expect from a band whose tickets range in the twenty dollar price range and once signed to atlantic?

at any rate i enjoy the live melvins stuff ive amassed in the past to present.

and so on and so forth.
