Nonetheless there is such a thing as too loud of a concert.

Haha, how many shows have you been to if I may ask? I'm sure you'll talk different a few hundred shows from now on.

I'm a little confused....my point was yes a concert can be too loud, perhaps I wasn't clear enough.  I can't say the total number of shows ive been to.  I'd guess somewhere around 50-100.  I am not a fan of overly loud shows, it tends to lower the quality of the audio and tends to make the experience less enjoyable overall.  Don't get me wrong I do love loud music, but there is a limit.

That sounds nasty, but if dale drinks it it must have some redeeming qualities :)
I understand Buzz is a tea totaler, but I know from a friend that Dale smokes the herb, but I have a feeling he usually avoids the "harder" stuff, wihch I assume is why Kevin ended up getting booted from the band.

I'd have to say the loudest show I've ever heard was Bob Mould in this tiny little venue (The Doug Fir) about a year ago (maybe the locust were louder, or just noisier hard to say).
Felt like someone had plugged the amp directly into my head.  Ears were ringing 3 days later. (as a side note I barely recognized him as he was about 100 pounds lighter than any of the pictures I had seen of him.)  Nonetheless there is such a thing as too loud of a concert.

Was anyone else at the Melvins/Mudhoney show in Portland in 2004?   That was my very first melvins show and I was wondering if anyone had a setlist.
I had only bought gluey porch treatments so I didn't know their music very well at the time.

I can't think of too many bands who are putting out music 20 years after their formation that stands up to their first few albums.
But as far as I can tell the Melvins are as good, if not better than ever.  Keep on rockin Buzz and Dale!

You are in luck, George W. Bush is a Melvins "Superfan".

Damn I knew that was him in the mosh pit at the Portland show.  I should have invited him back to the house for a bowl or two.

Oh ya, there was the neccisary crawling backwards and huge gust of wind that pushed me around, but I still got to grab mackies ass!

Speaking of Mackie...I can't say I've ever seen a picture of her.  Anyone got a pic of Buzz and Mackie together?
Tried a google search but didn't find much.

It's finally October 10th and I'm trying to figure out where a good record store is in downtown washington dc.   I'm here on [big] business, (sorry I couldn't resist the pun) and I know next to nothing about this city.  Anybody know a good record store near the white house (I'm working about 4 blocks from there)?  Maybe GWB is a melvins fan.  I'll knock on the white house door to find out, hehe.  But seriously if anyone knows of a record store close to here I would be eternally grateful to get ahold of this puppy today.

I picked up one of the stag era stickers for $1 at the most recent concert.  On the back it says look for the upcoming tour with Kiss.  Great sticker (Yellow & Black) but obviously quite dated.  Just threw it on the bumper of my new car.  The only sticker worthy of my new car as far as I am concerned :)

At one point Jared got a whiff of something someone was smoking and said, "Is someone smoking a diaper?" Various audience members responded by saying "Welcome to Milwaukee," but I don't know what that means.

I assume they were referring to the overall quality of herb typically found in the Milwaukee area.  This comment most certainly would never be made in Portland  :P

Yah, calling Dale "bloated"  and mentioning the "fat girls" in spokane is a bit much.  Is this guy the official spokesman for weight watchers?

I didn't know there were any 'most popular'songs.

That's why the word is in quotes hehe, but nonetheless, I have a feeling it was time constraints that has limited the set list for now.
