dale crover and donald trump are related.

You are a pathological liar and a douchebag, and I'm going to stop reading your posts.

Great review Boo!

I went to Shotwell's but didn't see anyone I recognized.

I must have got thrown out of the place just before Dale Crover took the stage.

I guess I could have got back in but I was advised not to. Ended up getting a righteous poster and a picture with Moss.

Oh shit man, I didn't realize you were going to make the trek!  We started off at shotwells and played a couple games of pool, but decided to head down toward the venue a little earlier than planned so that our designated driver could squeeze in another drink before the show and still be sober at the end of it.  Sorry man!  Next time fo sho.

Also, thanks for the Frisco clarification, Buick -- you nailed it.  All the locals (even in surrounding cities) call it "The City."

Not a big fan of EHG, but DNA is walkable from my place.  If you guys get in early enough, I'll pop by for a drink or some food beforehand.

you're up early.  can't believe you missed the bhs.  strange night indeed.  never been out west.  i've heard san fransisco called san fransicko  also can't believe it wasn't a sold out show
All the natives call it 'Frisco'

Don't call it Frisco!!!

Need to keep it short and sweet -- will write more later.  Meeting Ether was a pleasure, the bar we were in was called Kimos, kind of a shady place.  Upstairs they often host bands, but downstairs (where we were) is more of a geriatric gay dive bar.  Most of the patrons are well past 60.  Oh well, it was like a block from the venue, and had $4 tall boys. I don't recall any rainbow flags, but it honestly wouldn't surprise me.  Unfortunately, my anal rape overtures were not reciprocated by Bunny.

The venue was nowhere near capacity, but there was still a good sized crowd, if a strange one.  More on that later...

Like Ether said, the Melvins were, well, the Melvins...and played pretty much the same set as reported for other shows.

I also missed the Buttholes :(  More on that later, though...

for it with all the foo-fer-ra over jimmy bower's birthday.

"foo-fer-ra"?? is that in any way like "hoopla"?  :toke:

I think it's more like hullabaloo, but nothing at all like hubbub.

Just started Ju Jitsu....Got a background in Amateur Wrestling.
Its rough to restart training and working out at 27 after living a decade of severe drug abuse, but i find it very therapeutic.

Try it at 36 with two decades behind you ;)  But, same.  I'm doing mostly Taekwondo and Karate, but with splashings of Wing Chun/Soft Boxing and Jiu Jitsu (more of the latter to come as I advance).   I'm with you on the UFC thing.  I have absolutely zero desire to compete.  Just knowing that a) I'm learning things I can apply to every aspect of life, b) I'm positively impacting my health and c) muggers should (eventually) be afraid of me and not the other way around, has me loving it beyond words.
Is Wang Chung like Kung Fu?

No, but informed humor is funny.

I have sparring tonight.  I will test your theory.  Most of my current training is on striking and distance fighting, though...so, oddly enough, I've found Battles to be a great lead in to a sparring session.  Something about its precision and how it makes you keep moving.

Which MA's are you two training in?

Yep, I assume she's got other projects going as well.

Maybe, maybe not.  Last I heard she got like some fancy economics degree and was doing Hollywood sound editing to pay the bills.  She may not have a lot of time for multiple musical projects.

Didn't Fart meet her once?  I saw her a year or so ago, looks just as good.
Who is she playing with these days?  Still Watt?

is it me or is buzz seeming exceptionally sassy this tour?

Sure sounds like it.  If so, it'll be a welcome change.  If I have one complaint about the Melvins shows I've been to (granted, not a ton compared to most of you, but four or five, I'd guess), it's been the lack of banter and character (Jared aside) between songs.  Buzz has typically said next to nothing throughout.
Buzz is usually too shy shy?

hush hush.

Eye to eye.
