Melvins Discussion / Re: Melvins and Down to tour

the first person to post dates and venues earns a coupon for one hearty pat on the back from yours truly.
HOW LOW WILL YOU BE PATTING?

its one singular pat.  don't get greedy.  I don't just dish the damn things out to every tom, dick and randall that shows up at the melvins message board.
Just be sure to pat with your caps lock key on.

Good original post, Mike.  I like, and I'm now thinking of changing my middle name to "Fucking."

Melvins Discussion / Re: Buzz talks about Tool in Revolver

I'm over thirty, and have to tell you priorities change when you've got a kid, and a career and bills(or at least they should).  I like all kinds of different music.  But I find it hard to like a band when I can't respect the people in the band.  So I stopped paying attention to all that. If I hear music I like, I go with it, and don't read the articles or worry about if they're selling out on the radio or Mtv.  I don't care what the "most awesomest fan ever" says about them, I just listen to the music.  It's easy to do when you're over the hill.  As far as what kinds of fans a band has...look around you, there's stupid people everywhere.  The law of averages says some of them are going to like the same music you like too.  Someday kiddies, you'll listen to NPR more than you listen to hipster FM too.  Ooooh scary!

OOps I posted this in the wrong thread,  and there was a lot of typing, so pretend this is the other Tool topic.

Melvins Show Reviews / Re: Slim's New Years Eve Show
« on: January 02, 2008, 12:11:29 AM »
Watched the show (or most of it) this morning with Sweet and Hanz on video.  Good stuff.  Any collectors should be hitting Hanz up for a copy in trade -- the sound is great, and the video, while a little unzoomed, gives a great picture of the night.

Gotta again thank Cheese for the burgers and beer, and Hanz and Sweet for being some of the best house guests I've ever had.  Sweet taught me how to use my new vaporizer, and Hanz was a gentleman through and through.   Sorry about my dog's farts, Hanz!

Both of you definitely have a permanent couch in SF from here forward :)  Especially now that I know you're happy to share one  8)

Black Stooges/Untitled: Pigface
Amazon: Guitar Wolf
Dr. Geek: Man or Astro-man?
At a Crawl: Rodrigo y Gabriella (or basically any other song -- I'd just like to hear how she handles the drums)

Melvins Discussion / Re: Meeting fellow Melvins fans at work?

Is that a euphemism for "has a great peronality"  or for "uses a lot of aquanet?"
more like "has nice tits?"

There is no euphemism for perfection.

I'm guessing that his motives are "just being a normal dude despite the scrutiny," and not a lot of strategy.  One of the reasons he's had the longevity he has, and one of the reasons we're all talking about him still.  He likes baseball, doesn't like Bon Jovi ;)

That was actually pretty painful.  I hope he got paid well.  At least he didn't ham it up for the camera or the douchebag host.

i got (a)sa on our jukebox at work, and every once in awhile i'll hear someone other than me playing the album so i always check and see who it is and a few times there has been some people "holy fucking shit you got the melvins on your juke?". and then it begins, i've actually spent a good half hour ranting about the melvins with some customer and not working and getting behind and then fucking myself. but hey you wanna talk melvins? i'll drop everything (@work) to do that.

I was actually at your work around six months (?) ago and heard the Melvins come on.  At the time I was pleasantly surprised to hear it, and made my sister shut up so I could listen...now that I know you work there, everything makes so much more sense.  I'll have to stop in soon and make sure you get the chance to rant and fall behind on your work again.

Melvins Discussion / Re: T-Shirts Round 2
« on: June 18, 2007, 12:47:24 PM »
For those large folks that didn't get in on the last round of shirts, keep in mind that these shirts run larger than usual.  I got an XL, and it fits me like a freaking tent... I'm definitely going a size smaller this time.

And on that note, consider this my "I," so long as the colors don't suck.
