i'm working on that hamburger idea for a cover concept,
something subliminal like hiding couples fu_king in the
grease stains on the patties of a triple decker, double cheese

Perfect :D

For inspiration:

Any ideas for a title yet?

You going to to artwork also? Some non-musical type can do that!

I want the first copy! 1/500

I was thinking along the lines of a giant, raging hamburger as album art. Anyone here know how to draw (or photoshop) giant hamburgers?

Oh, and to lamestain: can you send a full version of let it all be? vocals don't matter and an instrumental will be appreciated nontheless.

Melvins Discussion / Re: The Melvins Comic Book

I just read this at http://hydraheadlines.blogspot.com/2008/01/melvins-comic-book.html

Quote from: http://iwilldestroyyounews.blogspot.com/2008/01/world-is-full-of-evil.htmlMy pals over at Hydra Head Records are putting out a fancy, limited edition vinyl version of "(a) senile animal" by The Melvins. They had the bright idea of asking me to do a comic book inspired by the album. Having been a HUGE and LONGTIME fan of The Melvins, I of course said "Hell Yeah!"

Above is the first page that I inked today. The whole comic will be 22 pages long. In keeping with the surreal nature of the band, the story is quite strange. Instead of trying to interpret the album, I used the song titles as inspiration for the characters (such as: A Talking Horse, The Civilized Worm, and Blood Witch) and then wrote a story around them.

I'll post some more updates as I go along with this project.

:D

Good job indeed. For the time being I shall take it upon myself to compile everything on my pc until we can find a decent outlet for it all.

Hrm, I will have to check that out!

But I've had the melvana 7 for a while now, but I heard rumors of 2 other songs that werent on there.  My buddy said that there is a bootleg of them in circulation.  Thank you though!

Was it the 7" with the Velvet Underground covers? It's been commonly mislabeled as "Melvana"

QuoteDIBS ON LOVE CANAL!!

You might have to pick a Melvins original if you were doing a tribute album. Love Canal is a Flipper song...sorry if you already knew that. I don't mean to one of THOSE guys.

Yeah I know, but Love Canal has grown to become one of my favourite Melvins songs, and I am sure many of you can relate (eg. YOA, Sacrifice, The Green Manalishi, Ballad of Dwight Fry - may be covers but can still be viewed upon as legendary Melvins tunes.)

Oh, and I also found We Reach to be a bit of a disappointment (I cried when Pincer 2 destroyed Don't Piece Me), so I figured that we should attempt to succeed where they fucked up. Just my two cents.

Melvins Discussion / theMelvins.net Tribute Album

It's been years coming people, it's time we cut the shit and put this tribute together, whether we can find a label or not.
The way I see it, it should be completed by the end of the year, provided that someone here is able to compile everything.
Each snivleM song should only be covered once, and one song per artist (to avoid a million song tracklist, yes I know it's tempting)
EDIT: After some consideration, Love Canal may be better off for a Flipper tribute. I'll stick with Heater Moves And Eyes.

Melvins Album Discussion / Re: Making Love Demos
December 14, 2007, 03:35:52 PM
I now think there was a fuckup in the production of the whole thing. The pitch of every song seems to have been increased by a semitone.
Compare these recordings to the ones that ended up on Ozma. Every single song up by a semitone.

Both the same recording from 8 Songs.
Appears as Show Off Your Red Hands on 10, 8, 26 Songs.
Appears as Don't Piece Me on GPT.
Appears as Pronoun/Piece Me on Your Blessened 7".

Tracks 1-3: same as mangled demos, but from different source as Glen mentioned
Tracks 4-5: same source as GPT demos.
Tracks 7-8: don't know, but at the start of Vile, Buzzo mentions that "we also haven't played this one live before, so heh, it's a real treat.
