Melvins Show Reviews / Re: help, Nov 25 show in TempeAZ
December 10, 2006, 09:52:52 PM
hello, sorry it has taken such a loooong time for my reply!
The show kicked ass! probably the best since the 2x4 tour, or even the mighty House of Blues show!
I did indeed meet Sweet Intuition. She noticed my SNIVLEM shirt right out side while I was grabin a smoke (fuckin Tempe)
So I got there around 15 minutes after the doors were supposed to open, but to my surprise there was a huge ass line! Fuck! I was glad to see a shit load of people but dreaded the line. Well doing the whole walk the line thing I noticed my ol pal Ron! Ive seen him at every melvins show since Kevin joined (minus 2x4 and HoB). Well he was like 10 people back and let me and my brother and best friend cut in line!  Well they werent letting anybody in and that sucked. We did here the sound check for about 15 minutes. Then they started letting us in. We walked in to see the whole melvins crew on stage minus the MuMu's. Well I just wandered twords the stage and Buzz was doing the final touches on the sound when all of a sudden they bust out with  Civilized Worm! FUCK YES! there was only like 20 people in th eplace so far and I basically had the stage to myself. They fuckin rawked! After they ended Jared said "thats it folks, thanks for coming" and they exited stage right. I knew that they were just making sure everything sounded right. People were coming in and wondering what the fuck. It was funny. I grabbed a beer, drank it and went outside to grab a smoke and thats when I meet Intuition.

Well the show was just how every one else's reviews were, so Ill just hit the highlights.
I was right up in front of Buzz and all I could hear was Buzz's guitar. Fuck it was loud! I couldnt hear Jared at all. I did hear the drums and it was just amazing. You could totally tell that they were tired, but they still rocked. God the drums! Amazing!
The show ended with Jared singing "goodnight sweetheart" and I was fullfilled. It was great!

I did take some pictures with my cell, and got a Killer video of Buzz rockin out! It is now my cell phone wall paper. I tried to download it to my computer to upload here, but formats are all wrong and I am too lazy to search for the workaround right now, but I will send it to other verizon wireless folks if you want it.

Later!

man, that went sour.   it seems if you're planning on interviewing buzz you better have your A game.   don't try to be witty and don't try to push his buttons.  it just doesn't work on your end.
respect, intelligence and melvins-history knowledge are a must.

you're not going to out-cute and out-wit buzzy, the grandmastrer himself. so just handle your end.  he'll handle his.

Also if you are going to interview the Melvins, (ahem Vinney!)  RELEASE THE FUCKER!!!!

He's talking about the MELVINS list server. It's an archaic MELVINS messaging system that I believe you can become a member by E-Mailing MELVINS-L@LISTSERV.AOL.COM <MELVINS-L@LISTSERV.AOL.COM> The nerd list is cool.

Glen, I could give the shirt to Raymond for you if you want to send it. I see him at every show up here. Or I could get you his E-Mail address if you want to contact him for a mailing address.

give me his email address.  I'll email him and ask if he is interested.

this 'nerd list' DOES sound cool.   hhhhmmmm.

Our badge of honor!

all shirts that are paid for are now in transit.  the last couple (that I fucked up and missed) went out today on a quick ship.
so if you don't see a shirt in the next week or so look me up and we'll figure it out.

"recorded in Vernon (South L.A.) in a warehouse.......
24 tracks
100% live.....no overdubs
invite-only show
ran through the set twice.....the best take was chosen
mixed tapes later in L.A."

Interesting, but who are you quoting?
Your obviously not a "NERD" He's quoting Dan Raymond, Who likes to wear little boys underwear. Skid marks and all!

I totally agree! I recentley bought a creative zen mp3 player, and put almost all my music on it. I have been listening almost exclusevly to Crybaby. It reminds me of listening to Pigface. Infact I would put Crybaby and (Pigface) "fook" and "notes from the underground" on the same table as must listen to colaberations.
