Melvins Discussion / Re: Melvins 2013 Tour Dates
January 17, 2013, 03:58:18 PM
There are plenty of good bands playing at MDF, I was ready to buy my ticket before the Melvins were announced. Even though I'm a Melvins fan, I'm actually not that excited that they, and Down also, are playing. I would much rather see other black/death bands at this type of festival. I've listed out the best bands playing below, anyone going to the fest should try to catch as many of these bands as possible. Especially Cruciamentum, since they've announced they're breaking up after their last few dates:

Antaeus
Aosoth
Bolt Thrower
Revenge
Kommandant
Convulse
Ascension
Cruciamentum
Evoken
Loss
Midnight
Speedwolf
Anhedonist
Deiphago

I will also probably check out these bands if I'm not doing anything else:
Carcass
Carpathian Forest
Abigail

Selling a few recent Melvins releases on Discogs. Buy them.

One Sugar Daddy series LP gone, other three in series still available! If prices seem high, make an offer and I'll give it consideration.

Still have three of the Sugar Daddy series LPs for sale, as well as a 7". Lowered prices for just about all items today. If prices are high make an offer, I'm just pricing based on what else is listed.

Can anyone confirm if Big Biz is playing a set on this tour, or whether Unsane is the only opener.

Are Big Business playing this tour, or is this just Unsane opening?

So should I score a ticket to see the Melvins and Isis. Hmm..I live in Nashville, but I've been twice before and I hated it. I may buy a ticket and drive up to see those two shows and She & Him then leave after.

Mine was warped and I definitely do not consider it a "piece of shit vinyl".

Compared to the 500 other vinyl in my room right now, the packaging and actual quality of this pressing is terrible. I love the Melvins and will probably hold onto this copy and still buy a re-press when its released. I think that if you have to place a vinyl under heavy books just to be able to listen then you have a major problem. Ipecac should have done quality control and opened one or two of these records before releasing.

So are we just stuck with this piece of shit vinyl? Most labels will care enough to raise a complaint with the pressing plant and have everyone who wants a replacements ship theirs to the plant and in about 6 weeks you get a record back. Thats what happened last year with the first Harvey Milk record that Chunklet put out. Also this past summer when 'All the Dread...' by Gnaw Their Tongues came out some copies had the tracks from Side A duplicated on Side D with the songs from Side D not included. It took six weeks but the pressing plant got the record back to me in that case.

I watched it last night, and they actually gave Buzz quite a bit of time compared to some of his other appearances. He would get more dedicated time if he was a guest they interviewed rather than a guest on the panel. But he did get a whole segment dedicated to him.

Seeing as how this was announced well before Chicken Switch was/will be available, I'd be surprised to see it included.

Yes, I know Chicken Switch has been talked about/rumored for many years.

I would be surprised if it happens at all, happily surprised.

as would I. I would be on that like white on rice

like white on rice on a paper plate in a snow storm

If its in an Ipecac advertisement shouldn't it be out on Ipecac records?
