Melvins Discussion / Re: Covers I'd like to hear...

How do you turn duck into a soul singer? Put him in the oven until his bill withers.

Sorry folks, had to.

As for a cover? I'm thinking the current line-up could do a tasty 'Ohio', 'Freebird' or 'Hotel California' but my personal choice would be 'The Song That Never Ends' by a certain Mr Charles Horse.

ATP posted this today so get 'em while you can.

'TIME RUNNING OUT: NIGHTMARE CLOSE TO SELL OUT

The only chalets left for this year's Nightmare Before Christmas are a very limited amount of 4 berth ones. Act now or regret it hugely later.

Buy Tickets from: www.seetickets.com, www.stargreen.com and www.wegottickets.com and www.gigantic.com'

Interesting! I'm really tempted to try and worm my way into this arrangement but I'm a leeetle apprehensive since this is my first time going about this kinda thing.

Don't want to put the pressure on but you don't want to be sat at home while this is happening, do you? ATP are good people, not heard a bad word against them and I've been to most of the UK events.

I'm pretty sure gathering 5 friends who even know who the Melvins are would take a lot of effort. How's the share scheme working out?

There's 14 of us going but we've been to these things every year for a while. Not sure how the sharing scheme works although I'm guessing there'll be be a disclaimer to be signed insuring ATP against acts of theft or unwanted sexual advances!

Actually, here's the quote from the site -

'CHALET SHARE SCHEME FOR NBC

Due to the smaller chalet options selling out so fast and the huge demand from people wanting to attend this christmas, we've decided to start a 'Share A Chalet' scheme for those who want to come but can't find enough people to buy a bigger chalet.

If you wouldn't mind sharing with people you don't know in order to be able to buy a chalet, please email us at nightmarechalets@gmail.com, and we will get back to you with more information on how you can pay. We are offering PAIRS of tickets so that two of you will have your own room within a shared chalet.

This is a limited offer so we may not be able to help everyone that emails; first come first served.'

I meant it was an obvious choice that was bound to happen is all, them being part of the family Melvins.

Yeah, Porn was a no brainer. Looking forward to Kool Keith too.

Not sold out but going fast I think. the 2,3,4 & 5 berths are gone I think. Leaves you having to find at least 5 willing friends or join the share scheme.

the posters are sold in the shopping annex not the merch area. they have a sort of gallery/office thing. get one on yer way to pick up some scrumpy jack. I got one of the eits posters in a goodie bag (pub quiz), along with more jackie-o-motherfucker cds than we knew what to do with and a handful of deerhoof stickers which adorn the toilets in every service staion between taunton and glasgow. hope they have more than 2 members of barstaff in crazy horse this time, shit was hectic.

A UK citizen should be able to request a copy if the law is still the same. BBC being public funded. I remember requesting a copy of a friend's band years ago. It was cassette tape then but who knows now.

Oh and it was just Leech, Euthanasia, Theme & Way Of The World.

Do you just mean Charmicarmicat or some weird version I've never heard? I have a 28min version of Charmicarmicat I could up, it's a full gig of Boner-era stuff from last year without Big Business and I believe Trevor Dunn on bass. Let me know.

...

Here it is anyway http://www.mediafire.com/?rkhzb2q1ysx

I have a nice silk-screened poster from most years I've been, the programmes are always nice to have too. Ignore me, I'm just geeking-out. If Jamie is reading this can we please arrange for Neil Hamburger to compere the pub quiz, I have a bronze medal to defend. hehe.

My inner stuff-a-holic is having kittens about what kinda merchandise ATP and Ipecac might come up with. This is like counting down the days til Xmas so it is.
