so is he not allowed near blind people in wheelchairs either? y'know... the electroretard cover.
That's an excellent question.  I think human cruelty is tolerated more than animal cruelty though I could be wrong.  I love that cover by the way.  Frank Kozik has a twisted imagination.

Peace..........but Pantera was never hands down the best metal band ever.......................Peace brother.
It's a matter of opinion I agree wholeheartedly.  For me Pantera are the ultimate metal band followed by possibly Sepultura.  Megadeth had the riffs also some Slayer and Metallica but Pantera for me have the best combination of everything.

Of course Europeans are allowed like Melvins.  Every member somewhere down the line originated from Europe anyway, unless they once had a bass player who was 100% Cherokee.

Buzz isn't allowed to own a cat after Animal rights activists spotted the inlay photo from Bullhead where a poor defenceless moggy was being held up by it's tail.  Such wanton cruelty is a federal offence in the state of California.  Honestly.

It's fair to say that Melvins have grown into their looks.

So basically my point is Phil Anselmo is wonderful, Melvins are wonderful.  Let us embrace the coming together of Melvins and Down and have a massive lovefest.
Amen.

If you watch a Phil Anselmo interview and bypass the fact that his eyes are permanently closed and he takes forever to complete a sentence in his slow deep nu orlinz drawl then I think you'll agree he is quite an intelligent charming man.  Down fans are not knuckle dragging rednecks, Down are a good band comprised of members from great bands, Pantera were the best metal band ever no contest.  Watch an interview with Buzz and tell me honestly do you think he's super intelligent or inspiring.  He seems to contantly talk about how unfair the music biz is, how all the best bands are unpopular, his music is so suprememely arty that the majority dont get it blah blah fucking blah.
Don't get me wrong i love the Melvins and own everything by them but I like them best when they stick to doing what they do best be it good heavy music or interesting experimental Honky style.  I just think you Melvinites are seriously taking this whole thing way too seriously.  You're embarassing yourselves as close minded idiots whereas the Down fans are open to the idea of Melvins supporting.
Was there this much fuss when melvins played with Kiss?

It could be alot worse.  For instance Melvins could have decided to collaborate with Zakk Wylde.  Imagine if they were reduced to singing about beer and hell yeah and fuck yeah and I wanna fellate Ozzy and playing lightning fast meaningless shite solos.  Zakk wylde personifies everything that is wrong with America or New Jersey at least.

Personally I think this whole Down vs. Melvins issue is overblown.  Down have some excellent filthy distorted monster riffs, they perform well live and perhaps Melvins are even fans of their music.  As for the whole Phil Anselmo is an idiot opinion, well since when was rock or metal made by intellectuals.  When Phil doesn't take ten years to complete one sentence he can actually come acroos as quite articulate.

In interviews with Buzz I was never blown away by his genius opinions.  He comes across as just an average iq Mc Donalds lover.  He writes good tunes, he has integrity but he's not exactly Einstein and neither is Phil Anselmo.  One thing I will say in defence of Down fans is that they definitely would not be gullible or stupid enough to buy a Down equivalent of "Colossus of Destiny"  like all of us supposedly cultured and intelligent Melvins fans.
