Melvins Album Discussion / Re: The Bride Screamed Murder
« on: May 06, 2010, 09:52:23 PM »
I successfully downloaded The Bride Screamed Murder(sorry guys I couldn't wait), and it is everything I was hoping the new album would be. Since downloading it yesterday, I have listened to it 10 times and will probably listen to it another 20 or so over the weekend. While I love ASA and NWB; BSM blew off the top of my skull. It is weird, and experimental just like a great Melvins album should be. In my opinion it is the best thing they have done since H.A.T.,even better than POTRE which I thought was amazing.

as much as I would love it if they put a track on myspace as a preview, I am glad they are not going to. I personally enjoy the "suspense" and "mystery" of not knowing what it will sound like until I play it

I have an extra copy of Melvins Set Me Straight 7" if anyone is interested in trading for it. I am looking for any Melvins 7" that I don't have(the one's I have are Melvins Hooch pic disc, Dale Crover Drumb, Set Me Straight, and 4 of the H.A.T. singles. Please help me get rid of it

I personally really like the new album art. It reminds me of the kind of art they would use for one of their 7" releases.

I really hope they come down to Florida at some point. I don't have a car so it will be difficult for me to travel 7 hours to see them in Georgia

Melvins Discussion / Re: "plans" for a melvins "book"

I would be very interested in a Melvins book, I just hope that Dale would be contributing a good amount of the material. I know it is Buzzo's band but Dale's been in the band damn near as long. Maybe I am wrong and this is going to be a collaborative effort between the two?

what is with all the really shitty bootleg Melvins shirts that are always on ebay? IF you are going to bootleg shirts, at least make them original designs and look good and not the same crap I have been seeing everywhere.

How about the Melvins just focusing on writing an entire new album (not an ep plumped out like Nude) without the covers?

great idea!! though I would love to hear a cover of King Crimson's 21st Century Schizoid Man as JZS mentioned already

Here's an idea, let Buzz & Co. do the driving.

=D>  They are the one band that hasn't let me down yet.  It's bound to happen one day right?

shhhh!! how can you even think such vile thoughts as that?

I have a feeling that the new Melvins album will probably be the highlight of 2010 for me, as sad and pathetic as that may sound.

unless the Melvins completely sell out and go in a mainstream commercial direction, I don't care what the new album sounds like. I would prefer heav and noisy but I will take what I can get
