Melvins Discussion / new (?) interview
December 17, 2003, 09:03:17 PM
If you ever go to Seattle, the Experience Music Project (EMP - where the Melvins were playing) is well worth a visit. Expensive but worth it. Allow an entire day and don't forget to get the audio tour.

Melvins Discussion / the melvins got real good after ozma
December 16, 2003, 10:33:21 PM
I really like Ozma. There is some amazing stuff on there. Maybe the production doesn't quite stand up to today's sound but I have been listening to it for so many years that it doesn't bother me.

Melvins Discussion / a top ten hit after 20+ years?
December 15, 2003, 09:41:54 PM
The rest of Electric Larryland was a lot less commercial than "Pepper" but a lot more "accessable" than their earlier stuff. I really like it, though I like nearly everything by the Buttholes.

No, the drum solo is another element from Kiss - check out the drum solo on Kiss Alive II. (I think it's II)

Quote from: dr.ghiraThe whole speech ("Let that boy...") is, suprise!, completely stolen.
Just listen to old ZZ Top recordings (I think it is on Fandango) and you hear this stuff too!

John Lee Hooker, actually (see Dave's post above). It's more of a "musical reference" than a theft. It was adapted as made to fit the occassion. "I'm way down here in Melbourne, Australia..." ... "Where the hell is that?"
