i like twow more after hearing the whole thing, the ep is a solid collection. could they do the violin one live? are those violins?
#93
sounds like blues

i cant wait to see TWOW live. those power chords as a wall of sound will be a different thing than what they sound like on computer speakers. the snare line leading into the middle part, the middle part, the landslide drums beginning the end part, and the drums at the end are all genius.

as for bigmelvins griping, bigmelvins shows are better than a few other lineups i've seen. also, jared has done some of the best melvins vocals in my opinion, dog island for example.

i saw tool in boston this year and maynard's voice sounded the best i've ever heard it. i wonder if his varying voice quality is caused by the pressure sometimes exuded by tool fans. a singer's voice is effected by his or her mood/feelings, no?

I can't believe for one second that Scion thinks that releasing albums by obscure bands will somehow boost sales. Perhaps I'm naive but I just don't see it.

It may be integrated into a broader marketing plan that aims to promote Scion as a socially conscious corporation that recognizes the importance of art and culture but what does that have to do with selling cars?

Either way, I don't have a driver's licence so I don't see myself driving one of those any time soon. I live in the city, I don't need no fucking car.

i didnt know scion cars existed until now. i think they are an interesting car company, partly because they are producing albums by bands i like. also, here we are talking about them in a public forum. that's 3 ways this a/v thing is working for them.

this one gets 37 mpg, and it costs 15k US. if there were a 2 terabyte hard drive in there, i'd seriously consider getting one.

also i was just thinking about how the ultimate car sound system in the future will include a large hard drive. scions coming with great music could be a selling point that would be difficult for other car companies to match.

maybe the idea of their a/v branch is that scion is an awesome corporation and they thought producing melvins albums is a way to evidence awesomeness in an industry known for conniving marketing.

having "scion av presents" in the title is genius. i am googling scion right now.

"We might be able to do one more album in a traditional sense."

Fuck! I don't think it's only the theieving assholery, the recession has got to be pinning down album sales. Countries in Europe are defaulting on international bailouts, the US military predicts peak oil now, etc. Things will hopefully be better in the future, but what good is the future if all your stuff that people want is out of stock? I hope they find a way to continue doing albums, or at least some similar amount of output.
