Melvins Album Discussion / Re: STAG

i don't know. love the album but the drum sound is kinda weak and fucked up. like soft 90's rock.

Stag just has a weird mix, but i think that was the point. Stoner Witch has a strong production but Stag has better songs.

Ozma is very sick. love it though the production is off. too much gated drums and buried guitars.

its one of their best. no doubt.

I'm on the autism spectrum (high-functioning, so you wouldn't even know I'm not "normal" unless you REALLY get to know me, but who cares; level of function is irrelevant to the fucking deep enjoyment of fucking good music).

The point here is the sensory smorgasbord of experience that Lividity offers to those who have sensory perceptions like mine. I don't just get to LISTEN to it; I can also taste it and feel its textures and get inside it. Ride it like a night horse infected with moonshine and starlight and opium dreams. And "Lividity" is THE absolute most potent sensory piece of music I have ever encountered. I've got it on repeat and have lost count of how many times I've listened to it now. There are entire realms of sensation in the song; listening to it is akin to taking an acid trip at Six Flags. Hell, a lot of Melvins songs are like that for me, but Lividity is the most intense.

I'd like to hear from other fans on the Spectrum, to find out which songs that stim you the best.

awesome post!!! you must suffer or not from synesthesia?

i developed this in my late teens from smoking tons of pot and listening to Pavement and the Beatles.

Melvins Discussion / Instant Larry
December 20, 2014, 11:52:33 PM
What's up Melvins fanatics!?! don't worry im legit and new and have been a fan since i was 14. so that makes Stoner Witch my first purchase.

but something has been buggin me for years as a fan..... does anyone have any info about the song Instant Larry? where it was recorded, who engineered it, and what year it was brought to tape?

i get the feeling from being such a Melvins fan with lots of info that Mark D. did a lot of the guitar soloing in this song and maybe this is why it has struck me as being such a standout track. somewhat.

it's not my fav Melvins song by no means. just a complete mystery just like other b sides or/and compilation tracks.
