All mine are the same "correct" way I think.

can't be more than ten left now...

That perspective is so weird! I thought it was some Piso Mojado type off center label/hole for a minute.

I bet many of us saw the vid of a tune "featuring" King Buzzo bizarrely titled "House Ghyzmal Sphynxe" a few months back. I still am not even sure what I am hearing and how these vocals are related to Buzz. But I dig the tune.

SO then lo and behold on the bandcamp page it looks like there's a half dozen EPs of this stuff (without Buzz). Just reading the song titles and looking at the cover art made me giggle giddily.

Anyone delved deeply into these recordings? Any recommendations? Who actually owns these edition-of-30-ish 10" vinyl releases?

And will this Ghyzmal tune or any other Buzz collab be released?

I'm comparing "Harvel" from the split series to the one on Broken Pipe EP

It might be the same recording, but it's at least a noticeably different mix. I think Buzz vocals on this one sit better. Not sure if the wild synths are different.

Also, the new one is 2:00 and the old one is 3:27. The song itself is the same length, but the old one had a stick click lead-in, then some extra stuff at the end. Those extra sounds are
* an analog synth making some burbling noise
* an excerpt from Sesame Street of a character named Melvin who does everything with the letter M
* a few seconds of a drum jam from outside a rehearsal space[?]

I'm probably going to make a combined disc for myself of these two releases, so I might Frankenstein them together again. I like all those bonus noises and the lead-in

I generally prefer skulls with empty eye sockets. But this one has nicely devilish pupils.

MELVINS Live 2022 [Full Show] at Houston House of Blues

"Queen," "Hooch," "Shoved," and "Charlie" sound hot!

"Never Say You're Sorry" has a slamming main riff, but the verses go a bit sideways on this particular night.

Recording quality is meh. Phones are phones.

I'm pretty sure I've posted my comments on The Crybaby thread somewhere, but I think it's incredible. Every moment on it is a fucking performance. "Divorced" is probably the most epic piece of music they'd made since Lysol. A few places you kind of have to see past that the guest didn't fully get The Melvins, but hey it sounds great still! It's got a huge variety, it's got Kevin, and Dale really takes spotlight on drums in a lot of places.

When did Toshi move studios? Curious if that had anything to do with it. I think around 2011 I'd say the Melvins recordings hit a patch of middling quality. Curious if it coincides, maybe different preamps, mics, or something?

But then Five Legged Dog sounds amazing.

Many of you have not spent enough time with Stag. Amazing that it's one of the three Atlantic albums and yet still so underrated.

It says Houdini but I don't recognize that art. (The one with the family with the weird oblong eye sockets)

"Billy Fish," "Kicking Machine," and "Civilized Worm" are timeless. I've never had them come on and been like "ah, this again?"

I would like more variety in the setlists in general, though.

Steven should start a new band w/ the drummer from Boris
Ha! I'm guessing you mean because they are both showmen.
i remember reading a review on amazon for a Secret Chiefs 3 live video. someone was crying because a certain violinist they had in the lineup who really enjoys himself while he plays and they wish the other one was there. it ruined the show for them.  :-({|=

Was this about Timb Harris vs Eyvind Kang?
