Melvins Discussion / Best produced melvins album.

Quote from: grachanPOTRE's sonic palette makes the Melvins interesting again.

funny, it made them uninteresting, to me. they were already plenty interesting before they got douchebag mcgee on board to make funny horror-movie noises. ooh, a clanging bell! wow!

zzz worst.

stag and honky, however? genius at work!

i have that 7 inch -- it's got a non-album track on side two. i've never heard it, though, as my turntable hasn't worked for years.

stoner witch is one of the best-sounding rock albums i've ever heard.

yes, you can only complain about the melvins' recent slump if you've won a pulitzer, don't you know?

no, i meant the thrones' version of it. i know the harvey milk version real well, as i'm a nut for that band. anyway, i listened to the thrones song, and it sounds like a live bootleg.

hey, under the "thrones" section, there's joe doing a harvey milk song! what's that from, anyone know?

harvey milk forever!

i can't wait. the silent treatment was awesome.

and as much as i love kevin, the mark d version of the melvins is still my favorite.

"the bit" is one of the greatest melvins songs ever written, and one of the greatest rock songs of the 90's by any band. anyone who doesn't like it worries me. merry christmas.

Melvins Discussion / whither kevin rutmanis?
November 24, 2004, 12:52:48 AM
yeah, but they'd say that with kevin or without. they wouldn't be like, "yeah, we'll be back in the new year, but a little shittier."

it just seems to me that if kevin was sick, they would've wished him well from the stage at, like, the jello show or something.

alright, it's been a while -- does anybody know what the hell happened to kevin rutmanis? is he in the band, out of the band, is he sick, is he well?

i think it's strange that they just kinda replaced him and no one knows anything. or no one has said anything.

Melvins Discussion / connection

Quote from: Dog TiredYou guys have to realize this.

It's not a melvins album.

It's a melvins and lustmord album.

That's why about half of the album sounds like the melvins.

i actually think you're right on the money with this.

my initial response was probably partially based on my assumption that it was going to be a melvins album with this lustmord guy doing stuff on the side. i still wish it had been.

oh well. there are still 20-odd albums that i can listen to and enjoy. that's a pretty good average, i'd say.
