Melvins Discussion / Re: New Interview with Buzzo
« on: August 05, 2020, 11:14:59 AM »
As i saw it, there were only two things uttered by him that anyone might take offence by. One was discussing the movie 'A Wrinkle In Time' which the host said was apparently made to showcase diversity with it's cast. Buzz said it didn't matter about the diversity and that, quite obviously, such things don't (in themselves) make good movies. That he saw the film and said it was terrible. That he has seen fantastic movies that had no diversity. He wasn't saying diversity doesn't matter but that it isn't what makes a movie great.
In a sane world, this would not be controversial. The Wrinkle in Time film of a few years ago was unwatchable even by kiddie movie standards. It has Oprah, for God's sake.
It has Oprah, for Oprah's sake!

What the Melvins need is NOT two drummers.  They need two BASSISTS.

Idle, what kind of cameras do you use?

All of the static shots are GoPros and the handheld is a Sony FDR AX100. I also have a Sony NX5R that I break out now and then.
Thanks.
How about editing.  Is Final Cut Pro any good?

I was really just loosely quoting the Big Lebowski with the Eagles comment as a joke.

And dang, Dale does get the short straw in this senario.

As for the Melvins, I've heard that comment that they would not ever have to release new material ever again over the years, which is true.  They could go for the nostalgia act if they wanted to and live as they do for the rest of their lives.  I do not think they "could" do that though.  They are way to work driven and creative.  Or there would be lots of hard drives full of something that never gets heard, if there is not already.

I think they could get by and just tour on the nostalgia thing if they wanted to.  They could do album tours.  Or even deep cut tours and just keep getting deeper and people will still come out.  They could do just the hits a few times and it be viable.  I liked when they played one song each album.  With as many albums and EPs, they could do that and it be a long concert.  Just think year one all the first songs, year two all the second songs, and so on.  That could get them an easy 10 years alone.

And from what I understand, Bandcamp is where the band (if from their page and not a record lable) gets/makes the most money these days.  There is really no expense if you are just buying a digital album.  CDs, records, and tapes cost money to produce, and take away profit for the band.  This is where I get most my music from now.  Then someplace like itunes or amazon or real product like a cd and rip it.

Hipsters will buy anything.

And like Buzz and Haze said, if you don't want to pay, find it and download it for free from the interwebs.  They cannot stop the flippers nor the theifs.  I say get what you can while you can.  In this case if in a year this does not come out with some other release on a cd, I'll have to steal it off the interwebs.  Records do nothing for me, I just what the file to slap on my phone or computer to listen to when every I want.

Too bad AmRep does not have a digital download site like band camp.  Even if they put them up after something sells out or they've made their money off the limited runs.

No did not bother with the tracking.  It said three days.  I'f its not in the mail box sunday when I drag my ass down the street to check in, then I'll track it.  I'm sure it will get to my mailbox before I do.  I'm in no hurry for junk mail and bills.
