And I called it, already sold out!

It's not sold out yet. Still some left at Vaultworks and there are still some in the distribution chain.

Right, all sold out at Hydrahead though. When I got it last week, I cranked it right before I watched Lost Highway, which I haven't seen since it came out on VHS. It's a good CD to put on before a flick like that. That film is fucked, and probably the darkest Lynch movie.  Makes more sense to me now, after watching Mulholland Drive countless times.

Holy shit, this disc rules. Easily will be one of the top 5 of the year. I like this creepy ambient shit, right up there with Fripp/Eno or Death Cube K.  And I called it, already sold out! Good luck paying through the nose on ebay for an original.

I've got World's Funnyman, but I've never heard of this Greyhound Park DVD. Where can I get it?

The full title is "The Show Must Go Off: Live at the Phoenix Greyhound Park" Check it out at Amazon or CD Universe or ebay. It's funny because there are all these regulars at the dogtrack who have no idea who Neil is, and they get interviewed about him. The show is a classic. Neil goes off on everything. Some douche even gets pissed and walks out while Neil berates him.

Your best bet with Neil is to get his two DVDs - Live At the Phoenix Greyound Park, & the newest one The World's Funnyman. The first one is great, small audience at a dog track. The new one is loaded, the main show is live at a Ballroom type place in Australia + other shows like the Malaysia one & some clips from Toronto's El Mocambo. He conquers the world.

Ordered! :D
I thought about pre-ordering the new Big Biz with it, but I don't want to wait til March. Will probably just pick that up at the local indie store. I love Pigs, so I can't wait to hear this. Don't have any other Lustmord stuff, I don't know if I'd want to hear him without Buzz's presence. You can't argue with $10 and it's limited. Probably will be sold out soon.

Melvins Discussion / Re: Alice Cooper on Melvins?
February 03, 2007, 12:09:23 PM
Been on an Alice kick lately. With all the Coop talk around here, surprised nobody has mentioned the '73 concert DVD "Good To See You Again". I didn't even know about it til last week, was released on DVD in '05. It's from the BDB tour, interspersed with goofy acting scenes. You can skip the nonsense and just watch the show with or w/out new Alice commentary. It rocks.

Melvins Discussion / Re: Melvins Remix News

Fuckin' A. That's awesome. I would love to see a Melvins/Acid Mothers Temple tour. They'd fit in well on Ipecac too. Looking forward to seeing AMT live in May, a year after I saw them last in the same venue :D We'll have to post dates on here soon, because every Melvins fan should check them out. Devastating live band.

Anyone check out Kawabata's side album "Hot Rattlesnakes" by The Mothers Of Invasion? From '01, recently reissued stateside. Guitar heavy power trio type stuff.

Melvins Discussion / Re: Next Melvins cover

"I'm at the bookstore, I'm at the bookstore, YOU'RE AT THE BOOKSTORE TOO!"

That song's been in my head all day, and the Melvins would bastardize it well.

Yeah, Dave Grohl on the King Buzzo EP.

Melvins Discussion / Re: a canadian on the edge of tears

You should have went to the Buffalo show, fool. It was the best. Last time Melvins played here prior to that was May '95. You people in southern Ontario don't know how good you have it. Tons of bands play there in the clubs. Melvins are probably the ONLY exception. I can't believe they don't get good enough offers.

A few of my favorite bands/artists don't play Buffalo or upstate NY AT ALL, always Toronto, sometimes Cleveland then right to NYC instead - Claypool/Primus always hits TO every tour, last in Buffalo was '95. Patton hasn't played here as a headlining act since '92(with FNM), Buckethead has yet to play here.

Pinchloafmedia makes me fucking sick. Bunch of god-damn pussies who know nothing about music. It's too comical, these internet-dweeb review sites. Houdini Live kicks the shit out of any johnny-come-lately crap they're pushing.

Is it odd that I think sunno))) to look like fucking geeks with their robes but I think the melvins are hilarious with their mumus?

No, it's not odd to think that. The Melvins rock with the mumus. sunnO))) come off as "so serious", but it's basically Stonehenge-era Spinal Tap. I've got one of their CDs White2 and it's interesting. Not in a hurry to run out and get all their albums or do a roadtrip to see them live though. They're one of the most overhyped bands out there today. I wish I could find it and post it here, but there was a post on stonerrock.com awhile back from the club owner at Nyabinghi's in Youngstown OH, where he talked about how much of a dick O'Malley was trying to pull all this rockstar bullshit and almost got his ass kicked. Anyone else remember that? Was a hilarious read.

Volume 1-2 is definitely worth tracking down. Some highlights are QOTSA - Avon live, J Mascis & The Fog doing Repulsion & "TV Eye(Watt sings it), High On Fire video for Hung Drawn & Quartered, + Blood From Zion live. Best interview is when Dale & Pike interview each other about their harleys & fast cars. Coady is in this too, when he was in the Murder City Devils.

Got my clear green copy in the mail today too. Admit it, the Melvins track sucks, and isn't worth the money. If you have to have everything available with MELVINS on it, then knock yourself out with this. If you're expecting something along the lines of aSA, stay away.

It's basically a typical Melvins "noise" track, and wouldn't have fit in on aSA. I was expecting something rocking, this is basically an ass-backwards noise track. Should have been $5 and I wouldn't have bitched. Not worth a ten. The Oswalt cut is funny shit though.

You got the wrong groove, man. It's a normal Melvins rocker, and it sounds pretty good.

OK, will try again. I've been a vinyl geek for years and never heard of this . The other cool trick they did was the skipping thing at the end of "Arnie" where it keeps repeating "Dope".

Yeah, I played it again. Pretty fucking cool. I take back my negative review #-o, it's a short song that packs a punch.

I ordered mine Sunday. That's a good price, and it won't stay in print forever. The first two went for around $15 at the big net retailers, and they're out of print now.
