I wonder what's the story behind this "song"? It's pretty friggin' hilarious. Hell I'd get a kick if Melvins did a whole album of songs like this akin to Elvis' "Having Fun With Elvis Live On Stage"

Monkey L. Duffy

an excerpt from an interview I did back in 2003:

*So what's the deal with the track called "Hugh" at the end of "26 Songs"?
Dale:   This crazy guy that walked  by the alley of my house. Finally he comes up and knocks on the door and we're outside, taking a break from practice and he's totally on angel dust and one of us got the bright idea to start recording it. We forgot about that for years and then this guy that we know in LA's like 'I've got this demo tape you guys gave me in 1985 and on the other side there's this guy talking and I dunno who the fuck he is. He just sounds like he's just ripped!' and we're like 'oh my god! that's gotta be that tape we did of that guy Hugh!'
(Buzz laughs)
Buzz:   The first demo tapes we sent out, we put that on the other side (laughs) - some guy on dust talking! (laughs)
Dale:   And none of us had a recording of that so he gave it to us and copied it.
(Buzz makes some moaning noise as if he's off his face on dust)
*What's the actual song on that track, cos there is some music on there isn't there?
Dale:   It's playing with him! (He laughs)
Buzz:   Nah, the angel dust [guy] - jamming with him on harmonica! (Buzz cackles)
Dale:   It's him playing harmonica! Playing some bullshit 12 bar blues! (he laughs)
