What ho, Melvins fans? Long time no see...

I wondered if someone might perhaps be able to help me. I moved away from home and, consequently, most of my CD collection a couple of years ago, and my PC proceeded to die at about the same time. So, for about two years I've sort of forgotten a lot of Melvins tunes.

Last night I was shopping for a Ministry record but stopped to browse through the Melvins CDs in the rack next to the Ministry albums. I found a copy of the We Reach tribute, bought it, listened to the CKY Laughing at Lucifer and suddenly memories of Honky came flooding back - specifically, memories of In the Freaktose the Bugs are Dying. I flashed back to a time when I had dreadlocks, heaps of pot and oodles of free time and remembered worshipping that song. Alas, however, no-one's put it on YouTube and if I want to buy it from iTunes, I'll have to buy the whole of Honky. As I own the album on CD, I've no particular desire to pay another tenner for it.

Would anyone who happens to have the mp3 lying around be able to send it to me? I'd really love to hear that song again, it'd mean a lot and I'd be more than willing to send you an mp3/mp3s in return. If you can, you're a wonderful, beautiful human being who'll have all the non-Warcraft playing virgins you want in the afterlife! PM me!

Danke. So, how's everything been since last I was in?

I'll hook you up when I get home in about 2 hours Rev.

Check out my TAD post in Music. I was thinking of you when I saw Mr. Doyle.

Why'd you cut your dreads?

Reverend Ebeneezer

Corking stuff, Grim! Nice snap of the big fella. What're the new band like? And, speaking of TAD, have you seen the DVD yet? Best grunge retrospective I've ever seen, and it's nice to have (most) TAD music videos compiled on one disc...

And I cut the dreads mainly for work - when I had them I was an English student and didn't have any of the responsibilities that I have now. I work for a big, big, big and quintessentially English media corporation these days, although I am sporting a Jared-style afro at the moment.

And thanks for the mp3 fella! I've listened to the 30-second iTunes sample over and over while having my lunch today.

How've you been keeping anyway, chap? Still in Seattle I assume, if you're seeing TAD out and about?

Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't it be legal to download the mp3 if he owned the album anyway?

no.

I've never really understood that one. I mean, he could've just ripped his own cd to mp3 if the feds jump through his window and ask. As long as you have the cd in a rack somewhere what can they do?

I see what you mean. I think you'd be allowed to make a copy for yourself, but hosting it somewhere so other people can access it as well would be a way to spread it, right?

People should stop seeing mp3 files as the equivalent of a music album.
