And also, the guy who did the voice of Lion-O is the father of Kerri Kenney, of The State and Reno 911 fame.

And Kerri Kenney was in the band Cake Like, which was on the tribute album to Marc Bolan, which also features THE MELVINS.
Hail, not fail.
PS:  fuck him.

Holy crap, I never knew that, and I've had that album for like a million years.

And always I thought her musical abilities were limited to the washboard and jug:

at SXSW (in 2008 i think) Scion had melvins themed cars.  sounds good to me.

This made me laugh!

"Scion originally began its foray into the music community through hip hop, but has since abandoned the genre after other car companies began to tap the same artists. As Yoshizu saw it, the only solution to this dilemma was to begin to support the acts that other corporations would see as unmarketable.  Scion has since moved on to embrace some of the most decidedly unmarketable bands, such as Singapore grindcore act Wormrot, through its Scion A/V imprint.

Hahaha, that's great.

It also reminds of this:

Haha ... as if the typical melvins fan can afford to buy a new car.

Strange, seems they got lots of dough to drop on boutique priced merch and inflated ebay flipped boutique merch ...

you've never heard of prioritizing?

Oh of course, I have heaps of that Melvins schwag instead of all kinds of other things ... but the original post alluded that a typical fan couldn't afford a car ... they probably could ... if they'd stop blowing it on Melvins schwag ... yeah, Scion should mass produce those "Melvins Mobiles" ... it'd be a win/win ... Melvins & Scion would make a shit ton and obsessive fans would finally have some wheels.

Just like they'll abandon hardcore/punk/metal etc. once it serves it's purpose.

Yeah sure whatever, Scion's already dumped bands because their percieved politics/image were just a little too politically incorrect, didn't gel with the corporate brand, and/or might impact sales negatively. Case in point: Nachtmystium
